How is that arrogance? We played football for two years and if we could afford it we still would be. We left voluntarily as it would have destroyed our club staying in that league.

How you can suggest we're relegation candidates after four games, I don't know.

The table doesn't lie!!!

goign back a few posts,i said that when you play tilbury the crowd wouldn't be bigger than flakwell heath,i didn't realise you were playing them yesterday,i thought it was a couple of months down the line and was just using it as an example that if your results didn't pick up then the crowds would dwindle slightly, isn't rocket science.
yesterdays crowd was very impressive but was obviously swelled by the fact only conference teams and below were playing yesterday so a few southend, west ham etc etc obviously turned up. Had hornchurch of played say aveley at home i would of expected a similar crowd if not more at the bridge.
Heres to a good evening on the forum me thinks!

Oh just sod off and accept you were wrong. Even after you realised we were playing them yesterday you still said our crowd wouldn't be above the 433 we had for Flackwell Heath.

better to win in front of 3 than lose all the time in front of 550.....

and of course canvey is famous for....

candy floss

winkles

canv (where's he gorn now the shiteous has hit)?

low house prices

and MM attendence figures...

Come off it. You did realise and you still said it. I can drag up the posts if you really want.

What's this crap about the table not lying? It's just a rough patch, for pity sake. What happens when you have one, are you going to start worrying about relegation? No and neither are we. We're probably not going to be promoted, but then we don't expect to be. We do expect to stay up and finish at least in mid-table, but I suppose we shall see.

I hardly think someone from Hornchurch is in any position to critisise Canvey.

drag them up then,i have just admitted i was wrong, but lets face it had that game been played saturday you would of got no more than 450 in there(which is obviously still a good crowd!)

if you can lose 2-0 at home to tilbury then i would say you are or could be in a relegation fight, yes it is early but you have to show some sort of promise and apart from the opening day everyone i know who has seen you suggests otherwise

ha ha...we would all be playing 'conference football 'if we could afford it'....fact is like us and others that you look down on you couldn't...kingy left and you went skint ...he paid the bills off not you lot and then you 'jumped' like a japansese suicide case....you 'jumped' before you were pushed...when it happened to us we got our feet on the floor and got on with it.....we won 4 trophies afterwards and a championship...how many will you win this season....

Oh I'll be there next month, but you wouldn't catch me living that close to London.

Anyway, part of the reason we had over 500 was because it was a Bank Holiday and because Southend weren't playing. I won't deny that. But if we've built our season around getting 300 at the Lane then we'll do bloody well to keep it above 400.

That is such crap. Hornchurch can't even be compared to us as that's a completely different situation. We didn't 'go skint' - we didn't have any money in the first place. King(s) paid everything and papered over the defecits of the club in doing so. There is no way we'd deny that.

I don't see why we would have been forced out of the league. Teams like Crawley and Forest Green have survived through point docking and administration and though we would've found it a hell of a lot harder, I can't see that they would've forced us out.

A club of your size in the ESL is a pisstake as you were not just a big fish in a small pond, but a bloody sperm whale in a goldfish bowl. Is it any wonder you won four cups? To be fair, we get the same attendances, so would it be that hard to imagine us doing that at ESL level? Will we do it this year? No, but neither will you and, if you like, you've had a season headstart on us, since you've already re-established yourselves.

we dropped down the same amount of leagues though, you were a conference club last season and therefore the set up at your club should of been conference standard, with good young youth players coming through

We won last season by having those people coming through within the club, manager & coachs that had been with us for a few years, good yout players

a club with your support should be challenging in top 3,make no bones about it,at the moment, and it is early you are clearly not!!!

It ain't the same. We've got some very good players and they romped to victory in the reserve league last year, but they're not just going to walk into their first real season and get us promoted. I doubt there was much between the team you started last season with and the team we've started this with.
Dropping the same number of leagues is irrelevant since we, and presumably you, lost all our first team players anyway.

The players need time to get used to the league as it is, at the moment, challenging for them. I'm sure were they playing in the ESL they'd do much what you did last season.

exactly...that's why you went skint...kings pulled out as did coldseal so both clubs were technically insolvent and had to go down...we went without a shout and any whimpering...which is why we did well afterwards...you lot are in denial...hence your forum posts about being a 'huge' club whilst losing to pub teams who couldn't clean our boots in the ESL......its a long way down....

good luck....you'll need it..
