Be a great show I reckon. Remember seeing Maiden for the 1st time (Must have been about 1980/81) at one of the last gigs ever played at the old Rainbow in Finsbury Park.

 

Think it was one of the first times Bruce Dickinson ever sang for the band too.

Coming from somebody who admits to liking "techno" what even makes you think that you even have the right to an opinion on "other people's music"?

I would hate to be growing up now listening to the sh*t you like, rap and that garbage where they repeat the same word "ad nauseum" 1000 times and call it a song.

As for hiding behind an alias, my name is Dave Bishop and I stand behind the goal at the home end - a few people on here know me.

I am not looking for some sort of acceptance of my music from you Ken, just listing what I would like for Canveyboy to play if he gets a chance today at the game. If by any chance you are there and any of it is played just stick your fingers in your ears for a few minutes and hum some of your own cr*p - that should do the trick for you I reckon.

Ken, you do like the pretensious sh*t sometimes. Just pointing it out. Although, music is something we dont always agree on.

 

However, i am going to see Iron Maiden, Tool (Second time after Download Festival) and Motorhead(second time in a year after Hyde Park) later this year. Seen Metallica, Foo Fighters, Queens of the Stone Age, Prodigy and Red Hot Chili Peppers this year as well. Love them all!

I just feel that music should be pushing the boundaries, allot of the bands and songs mentioned do that, mainly the old ones. rehashing the same old format doesn’t create new sensations. i genuinely feel that there hasn’t been much good in the charts since the early 90's. yes i have rather pretentious tastes and pride myself on liking stuff most people haven’t heard of, but 'god gave rock and roll to you' is an embarrassment to modern music. a comedy song at best that shouldn’t have been herd outside of a great movie. Lets not forget that the turntable and computer are the only musical instruments to be invented in the 20th century. If Mozart was alive today he would be using computers to make his music (turntables would be a bit of a push, but hell it would be cool)

Yeah, agreed. But some people like these songs and like the fact that musicians play a guitar for example and can play melodies instead of hitting one note soulessly like bands like The Strokes, Kooks etc. Some of these bands are ok but do they really move you and thats what music SHOULD be about. It used to be about making a statement or expressing yourself through music and lyrics and now it just seems its about style and nothing else.

 

I mean 10 years ago, it was 'All i need are cigarettes and Alcohol' from Oasis who were talking about life in general and how discontent they were in life and now its, 'What's that coming over the hill? Is it a Monster, Is it a Monster?' What the fu*k has that got to do with anything. You may think that music shouldn't have to be a cerain way Ken and i agree too. But surely i have a point about its content and meaning?
