Not an item about Canvey but this made me laugh.

According to the BBC Sport website Chelsea were forced into selling Gallas because he threatened to score an own goal if selected.

Would have loved to have seen him try to do something like that at Stamford Bridge. He wouldn't have got out of the ground alive!!!!!

If they were playing West Ham they would have won 4 - 1 then.

bloody hell. can't believe they've put that on their official site!! even if that is true (the papers will report it as gospel), then chelsea should keep that to themselves. what a classless bunch of muppets...

would have been fun to watch though...

for an idle threat?

if he'd actually done it, the media response would probably have been enough for the fa to change their rules yet again to ban him for life.

we have chelsea's word...

i would agree to have him hung should he have done that while in an arsenal shirt but the fact he plays for chelsea just means its funny!!!
The fact of the matter is that gallas knew he was being used as a tool to get cole to the bridge, asked to leave and had mourinho had his way would of rot in the reserves for a while.Probably just a childish threat like most over paid whingeing premiership footballers

rubbish,he wanted out and it is only the fact kenyon decided at the last minute he could go,mourinho didn't want him to go,mourinho wanted him to rot and pay thats why there is deep division at the club at the moment, mark my words either kenyon will go or mourinho will go by the start of next season and i am pretty sure roman would rather kenyon stayed especially if chelski don't win the champions league this year

william gallas has denied saying anything,i personally think that chelsea wouldn't make it up but then again i wouldn't put anything past mourinho.Just think it is chelsea being bitter though
