Enfield 3-2 Aveley

Not a lively start A kevin Kilroy free kick was blocked on 3 mins, And On 12 mins Aveley took the lead ,A quickly taken corner found Martin Tuohy and his shot deflected onto Paul Daley's post and Sam Adejokun was first to the loose ball to tap home a simple chance. Aveley got a free kick which was fired over by Danny O'sullivan. And Martin Tuohy then fired inches over Es bar on 28 mins , Es came back into it with Owen Beale's corner looked to have struck an Aveley hand but Mr Toyer waved play on. Owen Beale put Marlon Stuart away but Mark Palmer was off his line quickly to clear Aveley lines. But towards the end of the first half a series of three corners had Aveley pegged back ,Sherwin Stanley had one effort saved by Palmer and another was kicked by an Aveley player against his own defender and almost produced an O G but again Aveley got the ball away. H/T 0-1

At the very start of the 2nd half Aveley's Carlos Brown was booked for a clumbsy foul on Kevin Kilroy and moments later he was lucky not to be sent off as he clattered Paul Oshin who was off the field for several mins. Another appeal for an Es penalty as Dan Costelloe's ball in again looked to have struk an Aveley arm. Again Mr Toyer waved play on. Ricky Case replaces Gbenga Sonuga 55 mins . A great chance for Es as Dan Costelloe was put clear by Owen Beale his shot got by Palmer but Stuart Strange just managed to clear off his own line ,On 62 mins Aveley then went up the other end and went Two up A shot from just outside the box was deflected into the path of Martin Tuohy and he picked his spot from 12 yards out giving Paul Daley no chance. But almost Immiediately Es pulled one back on 63 mins with Sherwin Stanley put through and Palmer saving only for Marlon Stuart to head home the loose ball 1-2. It was all Enfield now ! with Aveley trying deseperately to defend their lead by shutting up shop,Sherwin Stanley had a shot blocked ,Stuart had one saved by Palmer and then somehow blasted one over from point blank range, Costelloe had one saved by Palmer and Sherwin Stanley then headed over the bar from costelloe's cross. Phil Goss replaces costelloe, Aveley subs Rick Dobson on for Sean Reece. And amazing acrobatic save by Palmer falling backwards to push out Goss's backward header. Enfield finally got level on 85 mins as Marlon Stuart found himself put clear only for Palmer to bring him down,Mr Toyer pointed straight to the Spot ,Marlon picked himself up and fired it into the bottom corner ,Palmer diving the opposite way.2-2 A header by Stanley was then saved by Palmer ,Aveley sub Daniel Francis on for Sam Adejokun . Deep into stoppage time Es won the day as a disputed free kick saw Sammy Judge's pinpoint delivery met on the volley by Marlon Stuart from close range giving Palmer no chance at all ,Two late Aveley attacks came to nothing and Es held on.

Danny Gabriel Didn't feature today due to facial stitches and needs a few more days, Mark Whittington is still feeling the affects of a dead leg. Nick Turner is out due to an ankle injury and is likely to be out for at least a month. He has I understand been on loan to regain his fitness.

A word of praise for safety officer Richard Gillman who threw out a trouble maker today ,Thanks Richard.
