good to see the really rather excellent website being publicised again there matt.. so there you go 'cum on' canveys non existant history... some rather tasty little f.a.CUP runs there..some not to shabby attendance records..
a f.a. TROPHY in the bag and all the other essex senior stuff etc etc.. please feel free to continue the debate on CIFC's lack of history at your leisure.. or do you have to not win anything for 7 years to qualify for having a 'history'?

PA BIRD, Once again the fact that Pearce, a wonderful left back in his own right, received more caps than Sir Dicks, it does not mean that he was a better player! there are occasions when a less gifted player has been selected on a reputation or political perspective, also Dicksy punching out that Algerian for England B didn't help!

Just been reading on the echo website that Ty has quit league football due to injury. No mention of any non league football commitments but as we have shown before in the past, there is not much of a gulf between the two, so is that it.

Now lets see whats Canvey has won in their history then we can see which club has won more over their history. I wonder which club has won more or do we even need to have this questioned answered.

Spoken like a true hammer T1K
Neither was great facing their own goal
Both were causes of panic attacks in wingers
Both were motivators in their own changing rooms
Neither had a right foot worth much
Both could pass short or long with great accuracy (left foot only)
Both technically great tacklers
Pearce was a user of violence for the team Sir Dicks loved violence any where any time and the team suffered as a consequence therefore no international career of consequence (agreed mostly in his younger days)
Pearce was better in the air
Pearce was quicker
Pearce could play CB

com on ricay you are showing signs of regression to the single cell unit we once new
Of course money makes a difference as does judgement in how to use the money, judgement in where the money comes from and the building of a team attitude and skills spread that enables several years of blindingly entertaining football
Look nearer home for a club that turned down directors who were willing to put money in rather than take money out
That level of poor and politic influence on money management and the building of a snide attitude between players and management has cost the club (nearer to you) many fine players, talented management and coaching staff.
Retain a balanced view cum on ricay and look nearer to home

Have I ever said that i like Rod Moore and the rest of the directors at BTFC no i havent. I think that Basildon will be a disaster as the Billericay is a 2-way rivalry something people at the club seem not to realise or have considered in the planning of this idea. I feel that moving to Basildon will kill the club. Which has been shown in the falling attednces this season which led to the club having to sell most of the squads better players which then caused an even sharper drop in attendces. Also having spoken to 20 people who live in Basildon all of which are football fans and 8 of which go regularly to Basildon or Southend united. Of which only 4 said they would go now and again to watch BTFC which shows the lack of intrest in Basildon for such a venture. Having said that the other factiles will provide a lot of revune for the club and if it was happening in Billericay woudl be great for the club but its not so it will kill club. Of course the move was driven by Basildon council long term desire to bring a decent football club to Basildon instead it has been met by mass opposition in Basildon and undoubtedley played a major role in turning the labour/lib dem coalition in Basildon council into a conservatie adminstration who incidently done the biggest cop out in a leaflet they sent to my house in the run up to the election where they stated that the final decision on the stadium would lie with Basildon council (which having done AS level governemnt and poltics is a load of ballox anyway)

i'd keep an eye on the southend utd situation.. if they cant relocate in the borough they may be looking for a shiny new ground somewhere.. im sure basildon would be happy to see them move in

Up for your response cum on
The entire senior football situation in Essex is crap, there really should be at least one well supported club and Canv touches a vital nerve with Southend never really taking off in terms of catchment area crowd returns
Based in Basildon the largest working class population area it could be SUFCs saving grace and any run of success would enable the pulling in of new support from a wider area than does Southen-on -sea
As for the executive management of your club nuff said

Ty will sign on Saturday. He's only 30 and will find the difference in level a breeze. Gills would not play him because he couldn't train every day but Jeff will be less strict. Aoart from his ankle, he is very fit and should help improve the Gulls into the conference.

I hope that any new player coming into the squad will have the right attitude and commitment for the club. Hope that Ty will be able to perform as well on those occasions when it really matters. When you have a team like Aldershot willing to die for the cause, will our squad have the same passion? I hope that new players coming aren’t expecting an easy time or they might just struggle.
