Canvey v Lowerstoft

Hear what you say, Yellow, but the special thing about Canvey fans is that we're bigger than that. We are noisy, passionate but friendly. What you say about Hornx may be true, but we can have a laugh at Park Lane, even at ourselves. That's what makes up special and, at a lot of grounds, respected.

Agree. Don't think anybody was that bothered and I believe that there was no malice intended in the songs but at other clubs they might not have been able to get away with it.

Saying that the majority were good supporters and made for a decent atmopshere.

I can assure you the Chairman didn't. I have been Chairman of Lowestoft Town for the last 8 years & everyone I spoke to yesterday was a pleasure to talk to. I don't generally swear & I certainly don't threaten to thump anyone, being 5 foot 2 inches tall it isn't a good policy.

With you on the Foo Fighters though.

was just my observations, seems to me that instead of saying you was fairly beaten some fans are trying to use the behaviour of their fans or officials as an excuse, football is a passionate game and peoples emotians run wild at tiems

Rubbish. The fact that some of their fans may have been arseholes, doesn't take away from the fact that their team played well and deservedly beat us.

You should stop expecting us to look for an excuse every time we lose, because we just aren't. You seem to enjoy looking for more in everything we say just for the sake of stiring it.

Two distinctly different football cultures at work on Saturday.

Lowestoft in the old English big CB big CF get the ball up to the big lad and fight for second ball. It worked on Saturday where the woodwork played in Lowestoft colours and the Canvey youth failed to handle the physical challenge in the final quarter.

The Canvey game plan played on the floor did determine they had the edge on possession and more of the eye-catching moves.

Given the number of new boys at this level Canvey did o.k. And as an aside I would rather any youngster of mine learnt the game at Canvey rather than Lowestoft.

For Canvey the lack of quality on the final ball/cross did make it that much harder but lets remember this is early days in the learning curve for some.

Being football some may not make it but the future is promising for most and an adventure worth the journey for long term supporters.

Here's something for you to consider Serious Sid,

Be kind to the people on the way up because you'll meet them on the way down.

Sorry I'm a bit late on this one GawJus - as I have only just read your post. Of course I have heard of this saying but you use it in a strange context. As ESU said, it would be more apt if it were levelled at yourself. I can say hand on heart that all my posts are written constructively - even though I don't expect everyone to agree with what I say. The majority of your posts, however, seem to contain nothing more than sarcastic snipes. I am told by others that you are really a nice person. Pity you don't reflect this more in your posts.

In answer to your reply, I am a nice person not that everyone would agree but hey, not my problem. If I don't agree with what is posted on here I will respond. Can't help it if you find my replies sarcastic again not my problem.

You say that that I used the saying in a strange context. I think not. You seem to relish in teams downfalls as in Romfords bad season when you was in the ESL and now you are in the same league as Canvey who are having a tough time you are doing the same to them. You really know how to make friends but then again, not my problem.

Ma'am, this will be my last post on this subject. I don't relish the downfall of any team. In my youth I used to support Romford. I have several hundred programmes in the loft to prove it. In the 70's I watched them home and away. I still look out for their results and am pleased when they do well. Your remarks may hold water in respect of a few Hx fans - although I suspect it's no more than banter - but I love NL footie. I love the non-segregation of fans at matches. I love the banter and genuinely wish all clubs well. I am truly sorry that you cannot see that - but I suppose you would say that it's not your problem!

A very poor result coming from a very poor team performance. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/angry.gif" alt="" />

Could have been a different result if our 3 shots that hit the woodwork had gone in.

The least said about the game the better, roll on tomorrow and lets hope we can put it right with a good performance.
