Ilford 0 - 3 Enfield

Both sides started cautiously , But on 4 mins Es scored with their first real attack ,Some fine work out on the wing by Bret Donnelly set up Owen Beale to put over a swirling cross which Ex Enfield Town defender Graeme Hall glanced a backward header past his own team mate Andy (Chopper )Hall to gift Es the lead . Ilford should have levelled straight away as a good ball into Es box found Trevor Paul whose point blank shot was saved brilliantly by Paul Daley. A nasty looking hack on Owen Beale by Graeme Hall saw him given a long lecture by Mr Fissenden . A long ranger by Ray Taylor sailed harmlessly over Daley's crossbar on 13 mins. Ilford's Dan O'Sullivan found himself in the Referee's book for cutting down Sherwin Stanley on 21 mins . From the free kick Bret Donnelly bought a fine save out of Andy Hall. A free kick for Ilford by Brad Brotherton and Kevin Riley could only scoop a lame effort into Paul Daley's hands. Dan O'Sullivan was next in trouble as he tripped Gbenga Sonuga and was lectured at lengh by Mr Fissenden. Es next chance saw a cross into Ilfords box and following a bit of a scramble Owen Beale's shot was blocked by Mark Booby . An excellant opportunity for Bret Donnelly from Sherwin Stanley's inch perfect cross but he lashed the ball into the side netting. Mr Fissenden then warned both Brad Brotherton & Trevor Paul for off the ball incidents , both being lectured . Trevor Paul was then booked for shoving Ricky Case off the ball. And on 43 mins it was 2-0 to the Es as Sherwin Stanley's cross was met by Dan Costelloe who deftly laid the ball on a plate for Bret Donnelly who crashed home off the underside of Andy Hall's crossbar . A free kick to Ilford right on H/T and Brad Brotherton fired well over the Es bar.

2nd Half (Ilford sub Seamus Kellerher on for Mark Booby).
Ilford came out more assertively and Trevor Paul put a shot wide on 47 mins . And on 50 mins Graeme Hall cleared off Ilford's line as Andy Hall lost the ball to Bret Donnelly on the edge of the box but Hall was in the right place to clear. Trevor Paul again given a warning for backchatting the Ref . A chance for Ilford as Trevor Paul puts inches wide. Daley then saves from Paul .( Dan Costelloe off for Marlon Stuart 57 mins). A gaping miss for Seamus Kelleher after a mix up between Wes Borghys and Louis Lancaster from a cross from the flank presented the Ilford forward with a pretty good chance. (Ricky Case off for Martin Young for Es). Matt Negus fire's a freekick straight at Daley . (Jeff Hammond on for Ray Taylor & Danny Alleyne on for Seamus Kelleher for Ilford ) And on 77 mins Es extended their lead Owen Beale's effort was saved by Andy Hall and the rebound fell to Marlon Stuart who was taken down by Kevin Riley ,Mr Fissenden pointed to the spot . Marlon Stuart hammered it home 3-0 to the Es . Brad Brotherton had a shot charged down by Oliver Stroud . Andy (Chopper )Hall then found himself booked for backchatting Mr Fissenden. Jeff Hammond puts a firm header straight at Paul Daley .Marlon Stuart was put through but Andy Hall saved well . Bret Donnelly was also put clear but was forced wide but he managed to cross for Martin Young who returned the ball to Donnelly but he headed over , Last chance for Ilford saw Dan O'Sullivan put wide in stoppage time.

Ilford 1 Andy Hall 2 Ray Taylor 3 Mark Booby 4 Mathew Keogh 5 Graeme Hall 6 Kevin Riley 7 Brad Brotherton 8 Matt Negus 9 Trevor Paul 10 Troy Braham 11 Dan O' Sullivan subs 12 Jeff Hammond 14 Seamus Kellerher 15 Rob McHale 16 Danny Alleyne 17 Richard Wray.

I really do enjoy reading your match reports BUT do get a pair of glasses, this is the 3rd incident in 3 games where you have mistaken Ricky Case for Don Costelloe !!

Tell you what you want to look at the Ilford report in the non-league paper before you have a moan about top guns, the only thing that was right was that we dominated them for the whole game and that Donnelly scored

Certainly not moaning, think his match reports are extremely good and not biased one way or other. For one sided reporting try Arlesey. I bit my toungue on 2 other occassions and let it pass over, but top gun obviously has a problem identifying between Don and Ricky.
