I go on hoilday on the 8th of February, and have just found out that as well as missing the Grays away game, I miss the Ricay game as well. Any chance of the Canvey team playing their games in Trinidad for a couple of weeks?

but its hardly a tough call.. 30 degrees C, ice cold beer, a few steps away from the sand.. ..........

Or mud, creek, awful smell and the chance of sinking should a envrionmental disaster strike and cause a flood.

usual levels of flood ignorance i see ..

if the sea gets high enough to go over the sea wall then most of london will be under water, colchester will be a costal town and billericay would be a small island with the mayflower pub being on the beach..

the last flood occurred when the old sea wall broke, it was made of.. er.. well mud actually .. the new one is ever so slightly more substantial.. as for flooding from excessive rain, well that will never happen to any major scale on the island as every time the tide is out they open the storm drain gates and it all goes into the estuary ..

i think its smething like 4 hours in every 24 hour period when the gates have to be kept shut in normal conditions, obviously this is a bit longer during the high tides at either equinox.. so unless there is enough rain to fill the entire canvey strom drain system or to fill up the north sea then localised big puddles are all we have to worry about..
