This weeks Gazette, has a good report on saturdays match against Ware, plus pictures. Also almost a page about Owen Beale & Paul Oshin, Es' midfield duo. Its about time the local paper did something about the Es', its worth a read.

This is a mute point between EFC and Town fans.

The club pre-split was called Enfield FC,as it is today. The current EFC are still the same club.

However the vast majority Enfield fc fans of the 60's/70's/80/90's are now affiliated with Enfield Town Fc. (or have become disillutioned with whats happened in the last decade and no longer attend any matches at all.)

It'll only last for a week Mr Horn but at least it makes a change , Do they still give a full page to spurs & saracens I wonder ? Neither of which play in Enfield . I always find it amusing as Saracens was a self Imposed move to Watford & yet "guess what" they still get their full page . Our situatiuon was bought about by one man only who just left us to it after he got all he could , And nothing to do with our current board of directors . The person Steph just seems to have let the club ownership of Townies take his mind over and thats why we ignore an idiot like him and a small amount of others like him. It isn't a situation to our liking but we at E F C wish to keep our club history since 1893 in tact. And free of people like steph.

I have always wondered why Saracens get as much coverage in the local papers as they do. Unfortunately, some people will say their roots are still at Bramley Road. However, when was the last time their first 15 played there?

How to win friends and influence people,

"It isn't a situation to our liking but we at E F C wish to keep our club history since 1893 in tact. And free of people like steph."

So where is your future support to come from since you dont want to bother to recruit your former support?

I would never go back to EFC as all you cling to is a history, it is clear that you are being financed by a "sugar daddy" somewhere who can walk away just as easily as when he came. The future of football, especially at non-league level is for supporters owned clubs who do not rely on just one person to keep the game alive. EFC have a "history" but I cannot see a future and certainly not a future involving me and other fans at Brimsdown.

Son of Sam you are not the spirit of old Enfield and you hang on to a "history" which is clearly not yours and never will be. Look at your favourite players? I saw Derek Dawson play for Enfield. Who? I saw Alec Stepney play for Tooting and Mitcham at Southbury Road also Bob Willis in goal for Corinthian Casuals. I saw Enfield FC win the Barrasi Cup in Ponte San Pietro. I saw them beat Anorthosis of Greece 10-0. So SofS you dont want me to return to Enfield. I was part of EFC's history for the last 40 years of its life as it is not alive now. No EFC supporter would have turned another football fan away. We tried to grow the club from wherever we could muster support. I was there at Enfield Town station lobbying for support in the borough from commuters to try to save the club. Where were you SofS?

I along with MFM and others was writing and selling "Attack" magazine long before your favourite players came to the club. So what have you done for your club apart from turning potential supporters away?

Steph seems to have made a reasoned reply to a public slur against him.

I cannot see the logic in the argument that football clubs should only be reported in their "local" paper. Surely it depends on the size and status of the club - in effect, the bigger the club the greater the "catchment area" for want of a better phrase? It makes no sense to insist that Spurs should only be covered in the Haringey local rag - Enfield is in the Spurs area in terms of Premiership football.

Saracnes is a rather different matter pewrhapos - Watford is miles away. But perhaps it is still the nearest top flight egg chasing club?

I wonder if MK Dons are still reported in the Wimbledon Bugle? Or if the @rse feature in the Woolwich Express?

More Spurs fans and season ticket holders come from Enfield than any other part of the world.More than even Tottenham/Haringay.
