Redbridge vs Canvey Island 31st October 2006

Recommended Posts

ended 0-0, with Dobbo missing a penalty with the last kick of the game.

neither side looked like scoring, very little chances were created.

the ref was very picky to say the least you could just tell it wasn't going to be a good day when canvey were called back so the ref was the first person to be on the pitch.

Canvey are not good at defending corners and should practice them.

someone else like Yellow, will give the full details im off to bed.

couldnt beleve it when the ref called both teams back so he can lead them onto the pitch, what a tw@t. amazingly poor first half from both sides, 2nd half was a bit better but it never looked like we were going to score. we seemed to be pushed off the ball far to easily and im not sure if a single throw in went to one of our players. but a point is a point and away from home makes it all the better

Overall, I didn't think the officials were "that" bad - certainly not as bad as those against Bury who lost control with the game getting niggly.

I didn't feel there was that much between the two teams either TBH. Both defended well but neither team really looked dangerous in the final third with very few really good chances being created.

On the night some of our passing and distribution at times seemed a little poor and I felt that if we had been a bit tidier then we could have pressured Redbridges defence into making mistakes. However it was a nice through ball that split the Redbridge defence in the final minute. Currans superb turn of pace running straight through on goal causing the defender to bring him down.

I certainly would have been happy with a point at the beginning of the game but the chance to grab all three with only a minute or so to go was like christmas come early. Dobbo steps up and you'd think his powerful drive would give the keeper no chance at all. However, it wasn't to be and I think you'd have to ask London Underground for the ball back

Does anybody know if Rugg's substitution was due to injury? I felt he was doing ok and his strentgh on the ball was causing Redbridge some problems.

The pitch is not that bad there, and a bad workman always blames his tools

The pitch was the same for both sides that`s why neither side could string 3 passes together. I dread to think what it will be like later in the season.

I thought a point was fair enough, but when we get a penalty in the last minute, I'm gutted when it doesn't hit the back of the net.

Personally I enjoyed my day out in London yesterday which culminated with the football. I liked their clubhouse a lot.
