1-0 to the Canvey Boys.

average performance with a well taken headed goal by steve corbell!

Ruggy and Reade came on in the dying minutes.

Kitman being sent from the dugout to the railings.

and a fiasco with the floodlights.

MOTM, IMHO maybe Chris Bourne terrorised down the left wing. Another positivie our back four were sound and Ricky doing his job very well

What a day out! Decent pint in the clubhouse @ £2 a pint, delicious burgers with no queue, warm welcome from the Waltham Abbey fans (all of them), fantastic performance from the Yellow Army, decent performance from the lads and 3 lovely (and well deserved) points in the bag.

Saturday doesn't get much better. Now for a decent result on Sunday from you know who!!!

2 clean sheets in a row! and the back 4 and ricky all puting in solid games, bourne was really good today my MOM, kreyling dobbo were rocks in the heart of the back line and crow all so in good form geting forward aswell!

midfield were ok corbell and jay did ok second half first half didnt see to much of them. in the middle we didnt really much at all ok ryan had a few runs but apart from that he was not seen and jon stuart won a few headers and that was about it

forwards worked very very hard as always, if only they were more composed curran had a great chance to make it 2.0 but hit the keeper

all in all we worked hard defended well and took a chance when it came, 3 points should push us up the table!

Agree with Chris Bourne putting in an outstanding game - my personal man of the match as well.

Defence and Ricky looked firm and allowed us the opportunity to grab the goal and defend it. Tend to agree the midfield were matched by their Abbey counterparts. Another fairly close and hard fought game with Abbey hitting the post and what looked like the cross bar. After our goal we seemed to continue to keep the pressure up for the next 5 or 10 minutes but eventually allowed them back into the game with a Curran hitting the keeper when it seemed a second goal would put it beyond reach.

A wonderful day complimented by a wonderful sunset over the stand housing some quality canvey support swelling the crowd to just under 170. Seemed to take a while for the coins collected for the raffle to be put into the light meter though.

Good performance today. Looked strong in defence with the whole back 4 outstanding especially Kreyling and Bourne.

Off to watch the fireworks so more later.

Well done lads

Played well - keep it up.

The only down side of today - the bar. No decent beer (I dont drink lager) and I also smell of chips and cooking oil from the odours wafting round from the food.

There was a smoky haze when walking down the corridor to the loos!!

Thanks for that, I think thats about the first time someone has put a genuine good comment up about the club. We are only small but we are trying, we know we are not perfect yet but we are working on it... we will get there, hopefully.
On Monday I'm off to buy a drum.....or two!

Some pictures and breif report now on the main page of the Waltham Abbey site. Link Below.

The main picture should be used for a caption competition with Canveys very own Jesus looking as though he is about to be crucified

Waltham Abbey Website

Some good pictures on their site, i notice none were taken in the 2nd half, too dark?

Again not the greatest of games but a wins a win, i wish we would start taking our chances and finish off teams once we go ahead.

A very solid display yesterday. The whole back 4 were solid throughout. Dobbo was a bit lucky with that mistake he made at the start of the second half but he looked so composed throughout.

Thought Jon Stuart had a decent game. Made a great tackle to deny their forward just after we scored.

A solid if unspectacular performance and another clean sheet. Hope we can build on this against Ilford on Wednesday and next Saturday against Witham.

Best real sausage rolls this year and from a clean kitchen run by pleasant helpful staff.
Then we went and won the game.
