To anyone who wasn’t at Park Lane today – tough. You missed a beauty. In the end the Canvey lads were giving an exhibition of good football and absolutely everything seemed to be going their way.

The first half had no goals but it had plenty of action and those of us at the sea-wall end could not understand how we didn’t score. But it was good to see Canvey getting forward so well and using the full width of the pitch. We dominated the mid-field and from there we went on to command the whole of the pitch. Witham, on the other hand, found it very difficult to make any real dent in the home defence and Ricky had very little to do.

The second half was even better. Dominant play and plenty of goals. Things started to go right for Canvey and we were winning the 50/50 balls, we were challenging for absolutely everything and we were picking up the second balls. Our passing was sweet and once the ball came forward to Leon then the whole ground waited in anticipation for something exciting to happen. Leon went on to win the Man of the Match and nobody anywhere near me could find any reason to disagree with the decision.

Seems to me the lads have grown up a lot over the past couple of weeks and now appear to be much stronger physically and much more single minded in their approach to the game.

Well done to everybody on a great performance and a brilliant result.

Great performance today which makes it 4 unbeaten. If Dobbo had scored that penalty against Redbridge we would probably be in the top 6 but never mind!!!

Thought Leon was excellent today and took his goal well. Good goal by Dave Kreyling who had another good game and good to see Jay Curran amongst the goals. Worked hard and got his reward.

Jon Stuart did well at the back and both Clyde and Ryan dominated the midfield with their skill and workrate.

Definitely our best performance of the season and let's hope we can continue this for the next few weeks.

Credit to their keeper who pulled off some great saves in the first half. I started to think it was going to be one of those days. Ricky on the other hand had very little to do with the defence stifling any real attempts Witham had when pushing forward.

Once the first goal went in you felt there was going to be more to come and it was a matter of how many. In the end it was only the three but we could have easily had 5 or 6.

The things that stood out today particularly in the second half when we were pushing the game to Witham was the passing, overlaps and movement off the ball - it just started to come together and Withm had no real answer to it and struggled to defend against it.

Good turn out this afternoon with 359 in attendance on a chilly afternoon only warmed by a glowing performance. Top of the table clash at Harlow today had 360 with Hx losing - shame.

The Witham goalkeeper should be bought a drink from all of his colleagues this evening, because if it wasn't for him we would've scored eight. He produced at least 5 totally stunning saves, three in the first half to keep the score level at half-time.

The backline were terrific, a good combination of Youth and Experience. Crow was caught out a couple of times when they went three up front in the second half, but Kreyling was always there to cover. Jon Stuart played the best I've seen him...ever! Kreyling's header was a thunderbolt and I knew it was in as soon as he connected with it.

Thought Ryan was a bit 'soft' in the first half, he wasn't really challenging and his distribution was disappointing. Whatever the Management said to him at half-time worked though, he was the Rhino afterwards and showed the same effort he was capable of before his injury.

Corbell worked hard, Lee Jay's positioning was questionable on the attacking front, but he did what was needed and eventually learnt to draw his man out wide, which had he done from half-time we could've ripped them apart sooner.

Leon ran his [****!!****] off and seems to be in form at the moment. Good to see Curran get on the scoresheet too. Like Ruggy, he runs around a lot, but doesn't usually get the final product. Today he did and it was a well taken goal.

Can't believe Matt Reade missed that oppertunity that went for a goalkick, I swore it was a corner though otherwise it would've been in the back of the net.

Poor Ricky though, could see him freezing his [****!!****] off all afternoon, just standing up the other end watching the action. Witham had 0 shots on target and the only balls Ricky had to deal with were backpasses. Even when Witham did go three up front, our defence was solid, or their finishing was totally woeful.

Well done to the Management, they seem to have flooded the team with confidence, spirit and a fire to battle hard and take the game to their opponents. Something I haven't seen for a good couple of seasons.

great performance. Canvey back to their best. a very entertaining game. team had the right balance, kept their shape, movement was good, moved the ball about and got the result they deserved.

had me big bro with me again today. he loved every minute. at the start of the afternoon it was "your lads" by the 2nd half it was "our lads", Ive got a feeling he will be back

Great result over there today!

3 nil must be catching as we did the same today to your neighbours over the water! Looking forward to reading the report in my local paper this week (The Witham Times or whatever its called)!!

Really glad to see that results have been reasonably good so far and even more so the crowds have been good too! Hopefully i will be able to come back and blag a free ticket for one game (if the new regime allow it that is)!

Sedge sends his best regards and has promised to come back and see you all, even though i had to release him last week, he really does hold you lot in high esteem!!

I had to do do an interview for our programme and website last week and its online now if your interested. I think they may be getting bored about me harping on about CIFC all the time although i think its a good read. Its hard to forget 11 good years.

Many questions are raised at CUFC about you lot and i have nothing but praise, a certain Mr Quinn may join me in a scouting mission one day,who knows (but knowing you lot down there we will all be intoxicated by 6 and all the good players he has seen will be forgotten)!!

All the best to you all,

See you soon

WAYNO.

Took a while to break Witham down but once we did it was a matter of time before the goals went in. Leon deserves his motm award but i thought we played well as a team and it is very hard to pick out individuals to praise.

I see we now have a goalkeeping coach good to see Mel Capleton back at Park Lane smiling as always.

To be honest Witham were a bit dissapointing. Expected more from them but they have lost alot of players recently.

Nevertheless an excellent result.

Cheers Treeboy. Seems you were unlucky to lose yesterday.
