...now going to cost £5bn. Well we can safely say that will double again in two years time. And for what, two weeks of sporting activity, badly built stadia that will end up rotting (a la the Dome).
Can we ever do anything right in Once was Great Britain?

I think it is time to start looking for properties on the other side of the M25.

I still think that those who said they wanted the olympics in London, dosent even matter if they come from London or not, and not people like me who didn't want them!

No thanks, the Home Counties already had an influx of East London types (the Britwell estate in Slough) and we don't want any more. Of course, you are quite welcome to go to Kent

Why? We have industrial estates... and... industrial estates... and... Yeah you're right. Slough would be the last place I'd choose as well. I hear Baghdad is lovely this time of year

I've long campaigned that Slough is either: annexed from the rest of the country as its own republic OR burnt to the ground and rebuilt from scratch as it's a total dump.

I always thought the dome, after it closed, should have been tipped on it's side, and used as a giant satellite dish, for free television for Senior Citizens!

As of today, £1 Billion over budget.

Years to go.

At least £10 Billion over by completion, I reckon.

London Council tax payers to foot the bill. Glad I live where I do, though I have no doubt EVERYBODY will have to help foot the bill in the end.

London Underground ground to a halt yesterday because Metro's computer system crashed.

Us going to hold a successful Olympics ?????

You must be fckin' jokin' !!

I live about 5 mins from where the site is, and not a lot will be done here for the local people already the land owners are asking for 3 times what the land is worth, so there is where a lot of money is going. Look at the guy that wanted to buy into w-h-u just for the land...
