Salisbury 2 Enfield 1 .A great performance from our boys today against a quality opponent . we was all expecting a bit of a tonking I guess and when Marlon got us level the dream was well and truly on , I was surprised that our team did so well . If only the chance that Marlon had just after we scored had gone in it may had been so different . But quality defending Wes and Ollie were brilliant Thanks to salisbury for the hospitality today ,Nice people .

F A Trophy 3rd Qual round

Salisbury 2-1 Enfield

As expected Es were put under pressure right from the off and some resolute defending kept the hosts restricted to mainly shots from well outside of the box all easily claimed by Dan Anfossy ,A very heavy downpour came and drenched all who were in the open . A scare on 27 mins for Es as Robbie Mathews was taken down but Mr Trivett waved play on and as the half wore on a cross from luke prince ran up Wes Borghy's shin and struck his arm but again Mr Trivett waved play on Es had a couple of chances towards the end of the half with shots by Jon Stephenson and Owen Beale being blocked by Salisbury defenders , Oliver Stroud was booked for a foul and soon after Again Robbie Mathews went down in the box and once again Mr Trivett Ignored the appeals ,A shot from Sherwin Stanley went well off target . Then right on half time disaster for Enfield as Mathews cut in from the wing and Mark Whittington's challenge took him down,This time Mr Trivett gave the penalty . Mathews stepped up and calmly put it into the corner with Dan Anfossy going the opposite way. 1-0 H/T

2nd half, Swirling rain continued to engulf the stadium . A good start for Enfield in the second half as Salisbury had to do some defending of their own for the opening 20 mins With a series of crosses and corners coming in from Owen Beale and Sherwin Stanley but the Salisbury defenders were easily clearing them up. A brilliant acrobatic save from Dan Anfossy kept out another Mathews effort and then Enfield got their reward on 67 mins as a long ball over the top caught the Salisbury rearguard napping and Marlon Stuart who was in acre's of space calmly placed his shot past the advancing Ryan Clarke to make it 1-1 A suspition of offside perhaps as the officials Ignored the heated Salisbury appeals . Just Moments later Marlon was put away again in similar fashion but this time he slipped on the greasey surface as he was taking aim and his shot went tamely wide.(Judge on for Young ) Salisbury were now on the offensive as a cross fizzed across Es goalmouth and Dan Anfossy had to make a good save from a low drive and another was hit straight at him moments later ,Jon Stephenson was booked for a late challenge . But on 80 mins the Salisbury pressure paid off as a move from Paul Sales and Wayne Turk found Mathews at the near post and he swept the ball home from the edge of the six yard box 2-1 ,( Costelloe on for Stephenson) Salisbury then were content to keep possession and were playing the ball around to run down the clock but Anfossy did make one more save to keep the score respectable .Att 1452 A great effort from all our players .well done boys

The Enfield players get told off by referee Trivett for over celebrating, after Marlon Stuart had just equalised for the Es'.

Well done Enfield a great effort, the players looked sharp & i thought deserved at least a draw. Everybody played there part in a good game of football, well done to Kevin & Kevin. Sailsbury's stewards would not let me into the ground with my Horn, so i had to leave in on the coach, even though their supporters had them. They are banning horns & umbrelas from next week.

i can see why they are banning them MFM, i saw you take a swing at the steward with your black brolly. He only wanted to have a look in your bag, just to make sure you had no horns in there.
Or did you have one of those green little men in there. How was your little get together on Salisbury plane, did the little green men pay a visit?

Umbrella was confiscated .I had to collect it on the way out . Stonehenge was as ever majestic a place of serenity . The scene of countless U F O landings over many centuries . Its why it was constructed as a monument to visitors from other worlds.
