Enfield 2-2 Waltham Forest

It was with their first attack that Forest got a free kick on the edge of Es box as Vic Renner was fouled and he picked himself up and sent his low powerful shot past the Es wall to put Forest 1-0 up on just 3 mins ,Ex Es frontman Danny Gabriel then got on the end of a long cross but his header was misdirected and was cleared (He should have done much better) Dave Bound got over a cross on 18 mins and Louis Lancaster looked odds on to tap home but a last ditch clearence by Ryan Oliva got the ball away. From the corner by Owen Beale Dean Gilbert hooked a shot wide of Jason Willis's goal.
Danny Gabriel fires over a shot he received from a short corner ,A very good punch clear by Dan Anfossy as he was under the attention of the Forest forwards. Louis Lancaster put over a neat cross and Bret Donnelly glances his header narrowly over the bar on 30 mins. A superb run by Fola Orlinishe and got himself in a good position but he scuffed his shot tamely and it went safe.
Dan Anfossy was very quickly off his line to snatch the ball off Gabriel as he looked to be homing in on goal. A shot by another ex E Ryan Hall was hit srraight at Anfossy. 43 mins Phil Goss replaces Darren Spinks. Phil Goss should have equalised in stoppage time as a cross by Bound looked to be dropping on his head but he elected to use his left foot and desparingly for Es he put the ball over the top.H/T

2nd Half Martin young on for Louis Lancaster .The opening moments were marred when Dave Bound was viciously chopped down and a altercation from several players boiled over ,Referee Mr Smelders eventually calmed tempers down and Mark Whittington , Ryan Oliva & Vic Renner were all booked ,(Oliva very lucky to stay on) Neil Hughes on for Dave Bound (who was in some distress). A header by Hall was well taken by Anfossy. A long throw from Sherwin Stanley and Willis fumbled the ball and lucky for him it went wide. A good try by Andy Thomas was blocked by Wes Borghys And A free kick by Borghys was met by Jon Stephenson but a defender was on the line to head it clear.
But on 78 mins Es finally got the breakthrough as Owen Beale's corner was met by Dean Gilbert who knocked the ball down to Jon Stephenson and he rammed the ball home 1-1. Jon was then booked for tugging someone's shirt. Neil Hughes was put clear but his hurried shot went straight at Willis. Es were caught out as a loss of possession was fed across to Ryan Hall on the edge of the box and he side stepped two Es defenders cut in and cracked home an unstoppble drive past Dan Anfossy 2-1 to Forest 85 mins. A shot by Orlinishe went over Es bar ,Es were throwing everybody forward and on 89 mins .A freekick was not held by Willis and he dropped the ball to Phil Goss who placed his shot perfectly into the corner 2-2 . The look on Terry Back's face was a picture.

E's 1 Dan Anfossy 2 Mark Whittington 3 Louis Lancaster 4 Dean Gilbert 5 Wes Borghys 6 Jon Stephenson 8 Owen Beale 9 Sherwin Stanley 10 Bret Donnelly 11 Darren Spinks subs 12 Neal Hughes 14 Phil Goss 15 Martin Young 16 Sam Judge 17 Dwayne Uylett.

Waltham Forest 1 Jason Willis 2 Danny Honeyball 3 Larrie Oyebanjo 4 Ryan Oliva 5 Thoe Daniels 6 Ryan Hall 7 Danny Kenny 8 Andy Thomas 9 Danny Gabriel 10 Victor Renner 11 Fola Orlinishe subs 12 Sahkir Agada 15 Nick Muir 16 Liam Sango.

A point of Interest Ryan Hall last season scored for Enfield v Waltham Forest in a 2-1 win for Es . And of course last night he did the business on us.

Injury news, Oliver Stroud's cut down the back of his leg isn't as bad as first thought .He should be returning soon. Paul Oshin tells me he is about two weeks away to recovery .Paul Daley is in a similar position. No news as yet on Dave Bound or Darren Spinks. Marlon Stuart was last night suspended .
