Enfield 0-2 AFC Sudbury

The Warning signs were there for Enfield in the opening moments as Dan Anfossy dropped the ball from a Daniel Cunningham cross but it was cleared. Sudbury went ahead on 5 mins as a ball just inside the Es box found Thomas Noble who appeared to have lost the chance but he let fly with an overhead kick and the ball rocketed to Dan Anfossy's top corner to put Sudbury in control. Dan Costelloe then charged into Sudbury keeper Nathan Munson and was booked. A shot by Andrew Claydon went wide for Sudbury on 13 mins ,And Terry Rayner floated over a cross which didn't miss by much . Luke Hammond puts in Rayner but a timely Interception from Dean Gilbert cut out the danger. Andrew claydon then looked to have had a good chance but Mark Whittington did well to block him off. A cross from Es Martin Young but a sliding tackle took the ball as Dan Costelloe was about to take aim. A challenge by Marlon Stuart on Munson as both were going for the ball with Marlon clattering Munson and this sparked a melee which Marlon , Owen Beale and Thomas Noble all booked. A chance for Es right on Half time as Sherwin Stanley found some room but he shot well over the bar. H/T

2nd Half Mark Whittington was booked for a foul on Cunningham. (Jeff Hammond and Neil Hughes on for Sherwin Stanley and Dan Costelloe) A cross from John Pollard was just missed by Rayner And then a cross by Claydon was fired over the top by Noble . A glaring miss by Noble as he took advantage of a misunderstanding by Mark Whittington and Dean Gilbert . Enfield did rally slightly but never really troubling Sudbury keeper Nathan Munson . A long range drive from Wesley Borghys went well over Nathan Munson's bar ,Marlon Stuart was chopped down by Daniel Cunningham and he was booked .Donny George was also booked for a foul on Marlon and Luke Hammond followed suit as he fouled Phil Goss . Sudbury made the game safe with two mins remaining as Andrew Claydon was put away by Cunningham and he made no mistake firing low into the corner 2-0 to sudbury. Es had one good chance near the end as Neil Hughes had a shot vey well saved by Munson .Att 159. To be honest it was a very poor game all round today from everybody

It was very hard to draw anything positive from Es today . It was very shoddy from our boys .
