A game of two halves with Enfield going ahead early on through Martin young . They levelled with a freekick that went through our wall like a missile ,A well worked move put canvey 2-1 up ,Right on Half time John Stephenson played the ball into the path of their man who couldnt miss.

Martin young with our second 50 mins 3-2 Elvis Ballic on his debut 3-3 from Owen's corner ,And then a joke of a freekick allowed their no 4 to complete his hat trick as he followed up from Daley's save . We didnt play that badly but the rub of the green went against us today.

I wouldn't say it was that much of a joke of a freekick. It was definately a two-footed lunge, but whether it made that much contact or not we'll never know!

Your guy just dived out of the way after the ball had sailed out of play ,some Refs would have given it some wouldnt ,I am convinced that there was no contact on your no 11. I was standing along that side .

Martin Young was the nuts today!!!
I think that Marlon played well too and well done to Elvis(Ah Ha Ha) for scoring. Shame we didnt beat them and shame they had to spoil it by taking Enfield Horns Air Horn away!! Shame on you Canvey you sad bunch of gits - with caravans!!!

Strange the Air Horns were banned ? and the Drums were allowed to boom away amonst the canvey fans. But not a bad day and a cracking game of football .

I have to say, it is a disgrace for a club to ban an air horn when it allows a drum to be played. Mind you, Canvey seem to think they are better than the rest of us with their over inflated prices and charging for parking!

I can see Canvey winning most home games, but i don't feel they have the quality to pick up regular wins on the road.Probably a good bet for a play-off place.

I don't think it has anything to do with the sound it makes, but it's ability to be thrown on the pitch with ease... Which if you ask me is stupid considering a half full bottle of coke can probably do just as much damage if it hits someone, even with the cap confiscated.

I would have thought that the big stick used to hit the drum with, would provide a perfect throwing implement?

Yes it would, but then I suppose that leads to the issue of trust with our Directors. They know that our Supporters Club Chairman/Press Officer is the one on the drum(s) and they can trust him.

We've been to games, particularly last season where the drums were not allowed, purely because of that reason. Nothing to do with the noise, (no matter how much is pisses the home fans off!)

It's weird though, video cameras are banned from our ground too!

Canvey Island 4 - 3 Enfield

Enfield started very brightly with several early raids that appeared to surprise Canvey .And On 5 mins E's went ahead as Marlon Stuart's shot from the edge of the area was parried by Ricky Wiseman and Martin Young was on hand to prod the ball home .Jeff Hammond let fly but it wasn't really going to trouble Wiseman, But this woke Canvey up and a shot by Craig Davidson wasn't that far away ,A good cross from the flank found Nick Rugg but he wasted the chance by shooting well wide from a promising position . A shot by Clyde Roberts flew over Enfield's crossbar ,A freekick for E's but Jon Stephenson fired it well over Wisemans crossbar . Paul Daley then had to be quickly off his line to grab the ball at Jay Curran's feet. But on 24 mins a contencious freekick was awarded to Canvey with Elvis Balic adjudged to have taken somebody down even though he looked to have won the ball fairly !! . Up stepped Kevin Dobinson sent the freekick though a gap in E's wall and past the unsighted Paul Daley 1-1. A chance for Enfield as Owen Beale's corner fell to Martin Young but he put his effort wide. A shot by Jay Curren goes wide and then Canvey go 2-1 up as a shot is blocked and Kevin Dobinson was running in to slam the ball home on 30 mins . Still E's were plugging away and Marlon Stuart had a shot saved by by Wiseman on 35 mins .Paul Daley then does well to save a deflected shot from Roberts , But right on half time a suicidal pass across his own back line by Jon Stephenson disected Dean Gilbert & Louis Lancaster and Jay Curran was able to Intercept and blast home past Daley 3-1 H/T

2nd Half Jeff Hammond was booked in the opening moments for a foul . But E's started the half with more purpose and on 51 mins Neil Hughes slipped a great ball out to Martin Young and having turned his man slammed the ball into Ricky Wiseman's top corner and E's were back in the game 3-2. Canvey's John Stuart was booked for a foul , Enfield were still looking the more positive and Neil Hughes forced Ricky Wiseman into a howlling error as he robbed him of the ball but his shot from a tight angle rolled along Canvey's goal line before it was cleared .(Gasps of astonishment from canvey's fans ) Craig Davidson was booked for a foul on Young and Jeff Hammond's shot was charged down for an E's corner. And from this Owen Beale's corner Elvis Balic timed his run to perfection to force the ball home 3-3 on 63 mins. Jon Stephenson heads one wide soonafter. But it was another contencious freekick that rocked Enfield back on our heels as Lee Jay crossed and Mark Whittington was harshly adjuged to have fouled him . The Freekick was delivered to the edge of E's box and Clyde Roberts shot was saved by Daley but Kevin Dobinson was in like a greyhound to put Canvey back in front 4-3 on 68 mins IT WAS HIS HAT TRICK. Jon Stephenson was booked for a foul , Ryan Eggar shoots over E's bar , Jeff Hammond puts over an excellant cross but nobody could get on the end of it .(Bret Donnelly on for Neil Hughes 80 mins ) Donnelly puts Young in with a chance but he slices the ball over the top. Lee Jay was then booked for hauling down Beale ,(Sherwin Stanley on for Jeff Hammond 84 mins) A good sliding tackle by Dean Gilbert denied Curran and a shot by Chris Bourne was narrowly wide . Att 360.

Canvey Island 1 Ricky Wiseman 2 Craig Davidson 3 Chris Bourne 4 Kevin Dobinson 5 John Stuart 6 Clyde Roberts 7 Leon Gordon 8 Ryan Eggar 9 Jay Curran 10 Nick Rugg 11 Lee Jay subs 12 Dave Kreyling 14 Matt Reade 15 Andy West 16 Nick Reynolds 17 Glen Johnson

Enfield 1 Paul Daley 2 Mark Whittington 3 Louis Lancaster 4 Dean Gilbert 5 Jon Stephenson 6 Elvis Balic 7 Jeff Hammond 8 Owen Beale 9 Neil Hughes 10 Marlon Stuart 11 Martin Young subs 12 Bret Donnelly 13 Dan Anfossy 14 Sherwin Stanley 15 Darren Spinks 16 Danny Rocco.

£1;50 to park your car and then have the cheek to charge £8 to get in ,and if thats not bad enough another £1 to sit in the stand . And £2;50 a pint just to really put visiting fans off. As a proud Towner I will make a point of not going to that place again.

I go to every ground and blow my horn. Enfield's officials & supporters know who i am & i don't go to games to cause any trouble, i go to enjoy a good game of football, blow my horn & take a few photos. Most clubs & everybody who looks at this forum knows that. Sailsbury are the only other club to stop me blowing my horn this season & that was a joke because their own supporters had horns. What next, will we be banned from chanting & singing.
