Final score 3-1 to basingstoke.
Basingstoke went 2-0 up in the first half and city were awful, the worst yet! although saints had a chance right at the death.

Second half, two half time subs and the saints played excellent, the best since the suspension. made loads of chances but finally had a few on targit, something we've lacked recently, 2-1 about 10 minuts to go, scorer EFM member Ryan Moran, loads more pressure, but deep in injury time a hoof by basingstoke saw Wilmot rounded and 3-1 off the crossbar.
Plenty in the 2nd half to get excited about, only a few from St.Albans about 30 (the firm was there). 10 without a win now. Croydon at home saturday the two worst teams form wise meet at the park, do we sink to the bottom of the form leauge after being top for si long or do we start the march on!
Not 100% sure what the team was, a couple of faces i didn't reconise ( was on the famous ring road when it was read out) but definalty saw.

1. wilmot

I reckon Wraight was actaully no. 2 and then Danny came on at half time along with Simon and Armstrong. Sugrue played at 7 but cant remember 6!

Secind half was much better but we must learn to play like that from the start then we may just have a chance.

Heres to 3 points on Saturday!

Could he (no. 6 that is) have been Richard Evans, though he didn't play on Saturday which surprised me (injured? suspended?).
Also Corey should be approaching recovery by now, so maybe he'll put in an appearance against Croydon then we can get Smudger back into midfield where he does best and start creating a bit more up front.

[ 13 March 2002: This message was edited by: Rob the Saint ]

The first half performance was a disgrace. Not only did they give 2 goals away to a pitiful Basingstoke team who had won only 2 games since November, and you could see why,but there was no effort - Nutter was the worst of all.
I guess Gary Roberts must have agreed - hence a triple substitution. Second half - good slick passing, plenty of effort, looked dangerous. Why couldn't we have managed it for the whole game - it would have been a comfortable victory.
Team was in formation - can't remember numbers.
Wilmott

Moran Evans Smith

Wraight Sugrue Kean Cook Nutter(Honeyball)

Ansell(Martin) Bignall(Armstrong)
Second half had Honeyball in the back 3 and Evans in midfield.
