Any chance of a match report for the Madenhead game. I couldn't get to the game, but it was a good result.

Who played? Either of the new boys? How's it looking on the pitch? I can't make this weekend's match either so I'm relying on the match report again (and teletext!)

On another note...anyone who's got Championship Manager 3 (Champ Manager 4's coming out at the end of next month)...have a look at the Cambridge Utd team. Demba's playing for them upfront...and he's not a bad player (as in real life)...obviously EFC still has Jamie Bunn, who I did buy, but again as true to life he's [****!!****]!

i haven't got CM for PC but on X-box. Only 2 players representing E's(Perez & Richardson). I can't agree with you about James Bunn-I thought he was good! Perhaps didn't score enough goals for a forward but those silky skills.

I didn't go to the game but I will look in Non-league newspaper tonight for the line up.

Cricket fans may compare James Bunn with Andrew Caddick - frustrating at times because of the talent you know he has but doesn't always display week in, week out.

There have been a few throw-away remarks about him recently so maybe past deeds count for little but its worth remembering Bunny's contribution in helping Enfield avoid relegation in 2000 (we were clear of the zone by just 2 points). 4-0 wins over Aldershot (away!) and St Albans late in the season in which he scored 2 in each and contributed assists made the difference in keeping us up.

Injury has blighted his career and numerous bouts of surgery have inevitably taken the edge off his skills. He never had a regular partner up front and had he joined the club in the mid-nineties he would have had line-leaders such as West and Abbott to play off which would have brought the best out of him.

Sorry, I totally disagree. From what I watched last season he was overweight for the entire 9 months, wasn't quick enough to outpace most defences and would probably have done better in the Ryman first division. He is certainly no better than Paul Armstrong, Demba or Fabion Forde (yes I know he's back at Watford). The only person he can claim to be better than upfront is Stanley Mark-Dennis.

Anyway, it's a bit of an old tune to be playing. Maybe we should be concentrating on the players the club currently has, as they're the ones who can get us out of this mess!

If that was intended to be a criticism then I think it is most unfair. After all, the lad's only just turned 17.

Stanley is a very talented player. David Preece told me that, in his view, Stanley ought to have been at a league club. It is in players like Stanley where the future of the club lies.

In fact, Terry Back is doing a lot of good work behind the scenes with the youth players. There is plenty of talent in the youth ranks and the lads often train with the first team. If the club can hold on to the best of them then in my view the future is bright. However, the lads should be given time - and support. There is a world of difference between youth team football and the physical demands of the Ryman. Stanley - and the best of the rest - will get there - but patience is the key.

All the best

Terry

Just wait until the U16's Premier team get playing again. They've had a bad time with the unfit pitches situation at Enfield Playing Fields, but once they get going again then you will see where the players are that will keep Enfield in this league.
