Wingate & Finchley 2-0 Enfield

First opening went to Wingate & Finchley as Craig Ellis put his shot narrowly wide on 2 mins , E's first chance fell to Paul Oshin who couldn't believe his lick as Ed Thompson somehow made a point blank save ,From the resulting Owen Beale corner Ahmet Rifat cleared a Dean Thomas shot off the line , For W&F Joe O'Brien's corner fell to Ahmat Rifat but his shot was off target. A very harsh booking for Paul Oshin as the slippery surface prevented him putting the brakes on as he slid into a W&F player.
A freekick by Rifat was well held by Paul Daley . And a shot by Guy Helman was a yard or so wide . Another Joe O'Brien corner was helped on by Chris West to Dean Williams but Dean Gilbert cleard off the E's line . Jon Stevenson's freekick was tipped over the bar by Ed Thompson ,Owen Beale's corner was met by Dean Gilbert but Thompson did well to save on 26 mins. Dean Williams found the net but an offside flag ruled it out. Another harsh booking for E's as Jon Stevenson was booked for a next to nothing challenge whilst W&F players appeared to be getting away with equal or worse challenges. Paul Daley did very well to push over a Joe O'Brien freekick . Good work by Martin Standen whose cross looked to have found Dave Bound but Jirka Houdek just managed to divert the ball out of his path on 34 mins. A good chance for E's as Martin Standen forced Ed Thompson into a fine Double save . Owen Beale's corner found Dean Thomas but his shot crashed off the post with Thompson well beaten. A rather crude chop on Louis Lancaster by Chris West and Mr Jaye didn't even book him ?? But Joe O'Brien was booked for a foul and it wasn't as bad as the previous one. Dean Williams crosses and Ahmat Rifat slides the ball wide. H/T

In the second half Dean Thomas crosses for Martin Standen who put his header over the top. Jon Stevenson fires a freekick well over the top And on 53 mins W&F take the lead in contencious fashion as a two footed lunge at Owen Beale was Ignored by Referee Mr Jaye and the ball was played forward to Dean Williams who lobbed over Paul Daley .A linesmans flag went up and Mr Jaye still allowed the goal to stand ?? E's manager Kevin Lucas was justifiably incenced and was ordered from the dugout.(W&F sub Hardy Pinto-Moriera on for Chris West) On 60 mins it was 2-0 to W&F A deep cross appeared to have gone behind but the assistant referee wasn't up with the play ,Hardy Pinto-Moriera crossed from the corner flag and Dean Williams rammed the ball home ,E's defenders and the W&F players appeared to be static expecting a goalkick ,Nobody appeared to know what was happening until Mr Jaye awarded the goal !! E's players were again Incensed but to no avail E's were unjustly 2-0 down !! (E's double subs Jon Stevenson & Louis Lancaster were replaced by Marlon Stuart & Elvis Balic 65mins .Dave Bound was then replaced by James Hazell 70 mins) A good save by Paul Daley denied Leon Osei (W&F sub Joe O'Brien replaced by Mark Gradosielski) Wes Borghys was now struggling with a knock and limped off the field on 79 mins . Paul Daley superbly saved from Williams as he had room with Wes off the field . And again Daley denies Williams this time with his feet . (W&F sub Dan Standon on for Leon Osei ) Paul Daley yet again denies Williams at the end .

I won't go to Wingate when we play them this Sat. They are a bunch of rip off merchants. They charged £4 for kids to get in last season and the bar prices and quality are just a joke.
