Re SOB's I stand by what I say re whether it was abuse or not. To my mind it was not. No I don't say I've paid my £7 so I can say what I want. I don't feel that throwing abuse is acceptable but it wasn't abuse, it was some pretty frustrated fans who saw us throw away promotion last year and are very worried about it this year..

Re THM's comments, I don't agree with wanting us to miss out just to get rid of the a manager is acceptable. I want promotion and see my club play at better grounds against better opposition. I do feel that Jim needs someone with him with greater motivational skills. I also hear that Bryan is a great motivator in the dressing room. However, I haven't seen much in the way of leadership on the pitch.

Re DOY's comments. Totally agrtee.

I must say that I am very glad that I don't get to watch any of the games nowadays as it seems that all certain Supporters are doing is slagging off players & Playing Staff. I know we are all entitled to critisise, but lets have some creative critisism can we?

Surely if you got behind the Team it would be much better.

With the regard to Stewards sorting out Fans who hurl abuse, at the moment this is a bit difficult as we are very short of Safety Stewards. Our Safety Officer cannot be everywhere as he also has the Dressing Rooms to look after as well. He has asked many times for more people to come forward to help of Matchdays, but it is always the same few people that turn up, not only on Match Days but for the Working Parties as well. We need some new faces please.

There is quite a bit of work still to be done if we are to obtain the Ground Grading that we require for Promotion, so if you can spare some time to help we would be grateful. Also if you are good at Plumbing, Electrical work or any other specialists skills your help would be gratefully received. Just get in touch and let us know what you can do.

Lets hope that Town players can pull this around. Remember we still have quite a lot of injuries & suspensions, try and get behind the boys and spur them on.

Thats my 2 bobs worth any way.

So, would you make those kind of remarks to the player's face?

Still waiting to read who, what, where & when, other than Happy's comments on what he heard & come on that is not exactly abuse is it, like I said earlier it appears to me that certain player/s is/are whinging & has thrown his/their dummy out of the pram.
As for damaging the clubs reputation & apologies, per-lease lets come of the planet zog & back to the real world, however if any supporter has directed aggresive abuse at any other player/supporter they should be dealt with by the club & as it appears that certain people at the club claim to know who these alleged individuals are I expect some sort of action.....however I doubt it!

THM

I totally disagree with you. Jim said that we should make the playoffs this season. Looking at the table and fixtures I think it is a fairly good bet that we will and if we do then Jim and the rest of the players should feel proud of themselves.

Listening to the Roger Black trailer on Radio 4 he states that sport teaches you a number of things. One of the things that it teaches you is how to take defeat. I did not see a lack of passion on Saturday. I did see a team who wanted to win more than us. If the town had the rub of the green it may have been a different result. But it wasn't so there we go.

As for Bryan. At this time he is worth his place and to suggest that he hasn't motivated the side is a nonsense. We have had far less trouble this year with red and yellow cards and this is, in my view, down solely to Bryan. In the last few games he seems to have been taking monkey glands as he runs for the full 90 minutes and makes space for other players. It is true that he cant seem to score but then I have never looked at Bryan Hammet as an out and out striker when I have seen him play for EFC, Hemel Hempstead or now, ETFC.

We often talk about loyalty on these boards but Bryan is a loyal club member and always gives 100%. He does not slag of the other players but seeks to encourage them his captaincy this season was far better than Rudi's last season.

A player we have missed these last few weeks is Dave Allen and I for one will be pleased when he is back in the side.

BTW RnR I have seen no confirmation of the rumour you may have started. :-)

I cant put my dislike for a lot of the rubbish that some people call supporting the club into words so i will just keep clear of it all.

Sorry Mark but I totally disagree with you. No one was hurling abuse at Hammatt. However, the more vocal supporters were, rightly, criticizing his play and the fact that he seems to get picked regardless of his form. In the past I have openly criticized him and have also praised him, especially in the first few months of the season. Supporters pay their money and have a right to say and think what they want even if directors and the friends disagree. I draw the line at actual abuse but other than the occasional one off expletives born out of frustration by some of the younger lads, this was not apparant today. To say that Town fans are not welcome at future games is totally wrong. The fans pay their entrance and keep our club going.

I also feel that comments on our official website shoudl be taken off. An official website should not be used as a vehicle for one or a few persons' opinions.

It was Martin Luther King who said a riot is a temper tantrum of of a group of people who feel they have no power and are not being listened to. So it was with Saturday's football supporters chanting.

SoB represents the views of the Inner circle on here. The Inner circle are unhappy about the temper tantrum. There was no swearing just a group of fans saying we've had enough of the poor performance in front of goal. So the board did not get tough with the management for fear they would walk and will now beat up on the fans to show the management they are supporting them. That should really keep the fans coming through the turnstile.

What the playing staff and directors need to understand is the striker is the "star" if he dont put the ball in the net you can have 100 runs off the ball taking players with you but they are a waste of time. The "star" is the hero when he scores the winning goal and the "villain" when he dont and Saturday it was a pantimime out there.

Arsenal on Sunday were awesome but without a top class maestro like Thierry Henry I could not see them lifting the Carling Cup and so it was.

We as fans invest our time and money in our club and look for success especially as the gate prices increase with each promotion. This season we have been out in the first round of every cup and with this loss of form we are in danger of dropping out of the playoffs. Not much to cheer about when for the first 4 years we had something to show in the trophy cabinet.

THM I think over half of Town fans agree with you & I also believe that JC would be better off moving upstairs as they say!

Absolutely right. Nothing to do with any imagine circles, innner or otherwise.

I was ashamed to call myself a Town fan behind the goal in the second half on Saturday. The spiteful abuse (and it was abuse, whichever way you construe it) that was meted out to Bryan and his family, was totally undeserved. Mr H has been on here today trying to justify his actions as either 'I have paid my money, so I can...' or 'it wasn't a harmful thing to say...'. While I disagree with both points, at least he has the balls to own up & try and justify his actions. The rest have all stayed quiet. Hopefully they'll be composing an apology to deliver at the earliest opportunity. Otherwise they are just confirmed as cowards, who aren't brave enough to make those observations to a player's face.

That's not acceptable, in my book.

HOwever, once again, I heard no actual abuse and was standing fairly close to you.

'Should have been ejected by the stewards!' I go back to my original statement of 'self policing'. Why did people who were concerned not do something about the issue at the time?

Three stewards to assist Dave with a gate of over 250, who prepared the pitch, manned the gates, sold GG tickets, missed some of the game, as usual, and then cleared up afterwards. If stewards are there to warn people of their behaviour as well as everything else whilst others stand around doing very little, then I am afraid to say that it won't be long before I withdraw my services. Us few cannot be held responsible for everything that goes on at the club on a matchday!
