On a very very very very cold night the E's got a WELL fought point against a lack luster St Albans side, both teams had their fair share of goal mouth chances but none could break the deadlock. The first half was a midfield battle that neither team wanted to win, and only a few stray chances few for both teams, in the second half the St's had two good chances well saved by Palmer in goal, Enfield held well to keep out the St Albans front line and carved out a few chances for them selves however the best chance of the half fell to Armstrong on 82mins he could have won it for the E's after a mix up in the St's back line left their keeper off his line, as Armsrtong lobed the ball towards goal, St's keeper pulled off a great save to keep the score line at 0-0.

Get a life you little boy! Come on at least have the bottle to tell everyone who you are!!!

Could be a St's fan still with the hump?
Or are you a little lost boy on a big boy site, looking to cause a fuss?

To be fair, I doubt many people in St Albans actually knew the game was on. To arrange it with a day's notice, without being able to advertise the game (except on the web) is a joke.

We have a chairman who moans about crap crowds, and then he arranges a league game that no-one knows about.

Also, we had another first team fixture last night, over in Hemel - the Herts Cup Semi-Final. Don't know how many attended that.

Yeah, "probably" being the operative word. I don't think it was confirmed until Monday.

Besides, our local press comes out on Thursdays, and I'd say only a small percentage on people look at the internet, not that there was anything on our official site anyway

Bad organisation really - the club only have themselves to blame.

???

If you're saying the E's played against a weakened side you need you bloody head tested!!

Yes SA had previously arranged to play HH and by all accounts they sent their youth team/reserves

I wasn't at the game, so I got this second-hand. I understand that, on the pitch, the E's played against a full strength side while, off the pitch, quite a few Saints fans went to Hemel expecting to see their first team there. Obviously, having two first team games on the same night, Saints may have slightly strengthened the Cup team to the detriment of the League team, but I doubt if they would have done so to any great extent.

I remember Enfield fielding a weakened "first" team at home to Finchley in the Middx Senior Cup a few years ago while another "first" team played in the Capital League on the same night (against Wokingham, if my memory serves me right). That was the season after David Elleray joined Wealdstone for the duration of the Middx Snr Cup Final (although they were as embarrassed about it as we were angry).

We had two out injured and one suspended so we were forced to play 3-5-2 with no right-back and a defender at left wing-back, but no excuses really, Enfield looked sharper than us and more 'up for it', and it was only their shooting which let them down. Having said that though, their keeper (Palmer?) played a blinder and kept them in the game at times.

>>Enfield looked sharper<<

We ARE talking about the same Enfield side are we? I would call Enfield many things. Sharp is not one of them.
