Enfield FC Fold???

Slightly off topic, but while I would rather see us go to QE as it could probably be upgraded to Conference standard over time without upsetting anyone, and is closer to the heart of Enfield and our spiritual home, it would be very expensive, as I understand there is very little there now that would be re-used. I am assuming that we would have to share with EFC so there's only half bar takings etc anyway.

Brimsdown has a lot of land for training, and already has a clubhouse, changing rooms, stands etc. Is the cricket pitch now on the Downs or can that be used for football - resssies, youth etc. But there will always be a battle every time a planning application is put in.

I would have supported a united Enfield but not now that EFC have gone down to the Essex Senior League. Isn't it true that a combined club must occupy the division of the lowest of the two merging sides?

Enfield FC have now posted the official message on their website as follows:

"Due to circumstances beyond our control we will be playing our football in the Essex Senior League next season 2007/08, Since the present board took control of the club in November 2003 we have been in negotiations with the official receivers to remove the club from its holding company, Which was taken into receivership by the previous owner.

We would like to thank the Football Association, Isthmian League, Southern League and the Middlesex Football association for their considerable support and help through this transitional period.

We will remain at Wodson Park Ware, We hope to retain our current squad as the playing budget will remain unchanged, we are optimistic of having a sussesfull first season in this division, please come along and enjoy it with us".

This all seams very starnge after Steve Whittington proclaimed the E's were returning to Enfield in last weeks last weeks Gazette.

Good luck EFC.

It seems ,from the brief statement, that deals have already been done with the FA and ESL.No problem with EFC going into step5 (we did after all),but can the the FA please scrap the Step7 law from their rules,as there is no chance of them ever implementing it.It Makes the FA look even more incompetent that ever. Its one u-turn and change of decision after another. The AFC Wimbledon fiasco for example was embarrassing to behold.

Looks as if its a decision by EFC to clear debts inherited from Laz.

Does dropping a league negate a team from the 10 point deduction penatly for going into Liquidation?
