Maldon`s ground is ok for Ryman Premier, the problem last season was that they didn`t apply to be considered for promotion by the cut-off date.

the league looks good for the new season, hopefully we can really compete and not lose silly and annoying points at 'easy' home games.

lots of competition and some good crowd pullers will be good for the club!

Well i think that was a problem last season, i think certain players (not all) and some fans (again not all) thought all we had to do was turn up and we would beat certain teams. We have to lose that attitude and treat every game the same.

yeah thats true, its not like the old days, we have a good bunch of lads playing for us - but some thought we would walk the league just because we are Canvey

I think most supporters didn't know what to expect. I think our inconsistent start to the season and a poor March cost us dear but I agree, there were some games at home that we should have won.

I think our opening day victory over Flackwell gave a false pretence of that's how the whole season would pan out for us.

Does anyone know why the winners of the Eastern Counties League didn't get promoted into our league?

Didn't apply for promotion. I think Wroxham won the ECL but their ground would need some improvements to bring it up to the required standard so they didn't apply to go up.
