According to Les Gold the new Kit has indeed been purchased and will be launched at our first Saturday Home League Game, which is AFC Sudbury on 25th August.

Yes, i'm not overly happy with that either,but from the financial point of view it probably makes sense,as more fans will see the kit and subsiquently purchase it.
