1-1. A red hot day, and not a bad match. Town definitely better in second half with some of the trialists running their hearts out. Just a shame more people weren't there to see the game. Credit to the Exeter fans for making the long journey as well.

Well the weather was hot and sweaty. Radio London had turned up and was commentating on the first half. Cambridge City went to their task quickly and soon had Enfield Town under the cosh. JJ Saved. JJ saved. JJ was beaten and Robbie Carroll cleared off the line. JJ dived to the left and saved well. Kofi Nyamah injured and replaced by Andy Jones. Town finally got the ball up the other end with a corner and Robbie Carroll ran in and his header down just skimmed round the post. JJ Saved. After the initial onslaught town began to come out more and take Cambridge City on. Jamie Nay valiantly won another corner. Rudi Hall flicked it across to Steve Velandia who lobbed it in for Davis to punch away in a melee of players. Bryan Hammatt finished off some lovely creative work by players various with a shot just wide. Ozie Foster had a shot saved. Bryan in one on one but hesitated, Velandia shot over the bar reminiscent of the Harlow goal. Save that on for Harlow next week please Steve. JJ beaten but Cambridge City failed to complete. At the end of the half Jamie Nay shot and nearly beat Davis who stepped over his line but didn’t sufficiently take enough of the ball (shame).

HT off Nay, Foster, Bastian Carroll, Stephen, Dickie

On Tickner, Edmunds, Allen, Magona, Franquelli, Campbell.

Rudi Hall let rip with a dipping shot which he finger tipped over his bar. JJ saved. Velandia off Harvey on. On 65 minutes against the run of the half Midgely score through a number of players 0 -1. Edmunds was causing all sorts of problems in the box and was body checked by Fuff. At the other end Steve Magona blocked a shot. On 81 minutes Edmunds buried the ball past Davis with confidence and poise. Bryan Hammatt brought down in the box looked a good shout but Jay not going to give it.

1 – 1 and it was a fair result for a good competitive game. Someone said it was the first time town had not lost in a cup game in over 18month (one for Jim Cunneen to confirm or deny).

Silverware at last for 6 months anyway!

Attendence 244...

The last time we didn't lose in a cup game was on the 21st March 2006 when we drew 0-0 with Wingate and Finchley in the MCC semi final but went through on penalties....

The last time we actually won a cup tie was 28th February 2006 when we beat Uxbridge 2-0 in the MCC 3 with goals from John Morgan and Steve Baldwin.....
