The sentiment fits very well.I can only recall the chorus,so i'd have to listen to the first minute of the song,to make a proper jugdement, but its definately one to throw into a vote.

To be honest I'd rather we chose a song for and about us, with nothing to do with any other club, whether defunct or newly-formed. Enfield FC are defunct, Enfield 90210 are a new club based in Ware, let's get over it. We are Enfield Town FC.

Mind you, our hosts (or co-lesees???) might take offence at that song......

Next Saturday you could run out to "yellow" by Coldplay. By the way, hope you lot are up for it......we have added a few more instruments to the ensemble. You may need another couple of drums !!

I still say 'Move on up by Curtis Mayfield'

"Move on up
towards your destination
You may find
from time to time
Complications"

Says it all to a great uplifting tune.

It don't matter what any of you lot want, it's our Jess who controls the Music on Match Days.

Tee Hee!!!!

elephant giggle cuddle

How about doing a Poll. Pick 4 songs, every one votes & the one with the most votes Wins. Then I'll make sure we bring it to the game.

Sounds like a good idea.

If i can chuck one more tune into the hat.

Cum On Feel The Noize - Slade.

It doesn't have specific lyrics to tie in with the club (neither do most club songs),BUT it is a great feelgood tune AND it is a rousing song. Its the sort of song that sends a tingle down the spine when the opening chords start up.

Nice one, LS cool

In that case, here's my four:

Smells Like White Spirit - Pronghorn (cowpunk from Dorset - silly covers - link here. )

Ace of Spades - Motorhead's live original version or Pronghorn's banjo-and-fiddle version.

The Impossible Dream - Andy Williams (actually La Quête by Jacques Brel - God - but AW's version from that advert is wicked). Starts slowly, though.

Folk Police - Peatbog Faeries. Stomping bagpipe techno, if you can imagine that. No, it's good! Admittedly a tad obscure.

Any takers? wink

Don't wanna be like you - Boomtown Rats
Jimmy Jimmy - Undertones?
White Riot (cos we play in white)
White Room - Cream (same reason)
Wild Thing (after what I hear about some of the tackles last week)
Saturday Night's Alright for Fighting - Elton John

I vote against the following as being too corny:
The only way is up
My Way
