Not far off what i`d go for but i hope after missing out on Bourgeois (and Dobbo being out) we are looking to bring in a quality defender.

I certainly wouldn't. I like all of our strikers, but I'd keep faith with Ruggy as I'm sure he'll perform.

Would keep Ruggy up front as well. His work rate is invaluable to us.

I am a great fan of Ruggy,I was stood in the stands the other day and someone looked at the person next to him and said the un thinkable, as Ruggy went off, he said "I never thought I would say this, but he may struggle to keep his place this season".

This was not a criticism of Rugg. His point was our attacking options are sooo exciting, the greater concern is our defence.

Westy not good enough, Kreyling is a great player but not fast enough, if he is in the centre of defence we must have a player with pace alongside him.

This in my view is our biggest weakness we lack pace at the back amongst our great players with that in mind it has to be 4-4-2 with the following line up.

Wiseman
Wall Kreyling Stuart Crow
Gordon Edgar Fanibuyan Bourne
Lucky D Curran

Subs

Dobbo
J Curran
Frances

Unbelievable the players I have not even named!!

I mean Rugg & Curran or maybe Curran & Curran or even Rugg & Luck!

I know leave it to Batchy to worry about.

It's great to have selection problems like this!

Everytime I try and put my ideal starting XI down, I keep starting again on the basis of "I can't leave him out!"

My Starting 11 is as follows

Wiseman (Only Just)

Stuart Wall West

Crow

Roberts edgar fanibuyan bourne

Lucky D.curran

subs

Mel
kreyling
Francis
gordon
rugg

I personally feel we need Westy's pace at the back if we are going to play a three..

For me Francis hasn't been consistant enough in pre season to get a starting place although he does have a bright future.

Roberts done a good job wide right for us at the start of last season so he gets the nod for me.

Upfront i have picked Lucky and Danny Curran purly on the form during pre season.

Score Prediction : 2-1 Canvey, Curran and Edgar

Good Luck tomorrow Lads!

I think our main problem is pace in defence we have the ball winners and colin walls tackling has been brilliant i still feel we need that lightning quick defender. But if Bourne and Francis get back this might help as with there pace they can cover the wings whilst the 3 in defence cover the center of the pitch. I feel that John Batch will get the best out that of a strong and pacey line up!!!

That my other worry with Francis, im not sure he has the fitness to be a wing back that can get up and down the pitch for 90 mins..

I think he would look better in a 4-4-2, he can play more attacking then..

John Batch has got lots to think about before tomorrows game.!

Francis doesn't track back enough for my liking. Great player going forward but not as good defensively.

Would definitely fit in better in a 4-4-2 formation.

At the moment i`d have Leon in at right midfield, i feel he gives us more in his overall game than Francis has shown so far.

Agree. Leon's workrate is excellent and think he has looked very sharp pre season.
