So Mr Lazarou claims to have given 10,000 to aid local football. Hmmmmmmm. Sounds a little like Tony is trying to become the local hero by funding training camps and football lessons at schools. The truth is stranger than the fiction.

The real truth is that this 10,000 figure was arrived at by an estimation of how much Tony thought it was worth for the training of the kids at their schools. No money actually changed hands because the work of Terry Back and his helpers was provided for free. I know it because my brother was a part of the training.

These lies that Mr Lazarou gives out amaze and anger me. Both Enfield's are coaching the kids and are pleased to do so. Why does our Chairman have to gain credit and publicity from something he is actually not connected to both financially and in time and effort?

Angry, Enfield FC

Yes the coaching may be free in the sense that the schools and kids don't have to pay for it. But has it not occurred to you that T.L. is paying Terry and his helpers their wages while they are doing it !

I was thinking exactly the same.

I know of a qualified Football coach that charges £50 an hour, and he is not the Manager of a semi-pro football club. I'm not sure how much Terry Back earns per hour, but if you was to add up his and the others hours, then yes it could work out to that much per year.

So, if TL was to hand over £50 for 1 coach, for 1 hour, you would think that was better then him doing it the way he is.

I know that there is a lot of bad feeling when it comes to TL, but it seems that even when he tries to make a gesture of good will, he is still slagged off.

There must be a better way of trying to get him to do the right thing by Enfield, rather then just slagging him off on this noticeboard.

Is there any sort of fighting committee. Has anybody tried to get famous local personalities or M.P's on board, who could highlight the situation. What about contacting Soccer-am to get them to take up the fight. They could do a 'Save Chip' type campaign.

SAVE ENFIELD, DON'T LET LAZ WIN!!!!!

there was a fighting committee. It was the Supporters Trust who did all they could to ensure a good future for EFC. Then Lazarou lied and went back on an agreement so ETFC was finally born. The rest is history.

do Back and Preece get paid any more by Lazarou for this training...or is the £10,000 figure just part of there normal wages

are Back and Preece full time employee's of Enfield f.c ???

again it seems Terry Back is doing the donkey work...for the benefit of Laz.

Do you think Laz is doing this out of the goodness of his heart...or to gain favour with the council/F.A

He says this sceme will gain the club, players and supportes in the future.

maybe a few parents will come to boost the crowd....to watch their 16 year olds playing for the first team nent year.

if this £10,000 figure is correct would it not have been better spent...buying a couple of quality players,to keep Enfield in the Ryman premier.

or to help find/fund a new ground for next season.

the only reson Lazarou is still here is to get compensation out of the council for the link.....and(i believe) on the off chance of being given a free ground/land on the future Picketts lock development........or maybe to get Q.E stadium when the athletics move to Picketts Lock.

how long will he be prepared to lose money funding E.f.c on the off chance of one of these falling in to his lap...(not much longer i hope).

Well, if he managed to get us involved in a stadium at Picketts Lock i'd have to salute the man! That would upset the boys at ETFC I think!!

I hardly think that groundsharing with Harringey Borough is going to get ETFC too upset, if that was what the big announcement planned for this week was supposed to be. Who is going to pay for all the improvements and, more importantly, how safe and sound are the contracts that I hope Borough insist on signing with EL LAZ? I think another block of flats will do very nicely, thank you.

At least Haringey Borough have a 'ground', as opposed to a pitch with a railing round it!

mmm..all Haringay borough has, is a pitch with a railing round it ..(and a small stand).

If the rumours are true and E.F.C are sharing there next season...what is the hope of improving the ground to Ryman 'B' grading ,let alone Ryman 'A'...in the next 28 days.

Exactly- It has a stand. Does Goldsdown Road have a stand? Will it by April 1st?

The supporters of ETFC have excepted OUR stand and OUR ground will not be ready for 1st April.

But when it is ready.. we will have sucured our future...of playing football in ENFIELD.

Have the remaining supporters of E.F.C excepted, you will not be playing Ryman premier football, next season....you will not be watching your team in Enfield....support will half if you move from The Wood.

It gives me no pleasure to see the demise of a team i supported for 18 years.

But for a E.F.C fan to be tradeing comments about the future of other clubs does seem niave.

You obviously don't come on here very often. Please tell me why less people would watch Enfield Fc at Cheshunt or Haringey than at Boreham Wood. Both these grounds are just outside the borough. Catch the 231 from Kingsmead and you'll be at HBFC in 15 minutes. Ditto Cheshunt (but a different bus).

And I never ever have questioned the future of ETFC. But as you mention it, I'll repeat it again. What would you rather watch? A team with tradition, playing in the Ryman League, in a ground , with a stand ,the real team that represents Enfield, that will go on, because those people left love the club, and won't walk out because of 1 man.
You can't get to Wembley as a park team. You can't win the Conference as a park team. You can't beat league clubs in the FA cup as a park team. You have to have a ground.I hope it goes well for you, I honestly do, but not at the expense of the E's.

Just when I thought things between the clubs were getting better, someone has to light someone else's blue touchpaper.

The consitant jibes about park football really are very, very boring, and not even original. Yes ETFC will be playing at a modest ground for the next couple of years pending further developments (not at Brimsdown before that is misconstrued).

From what I have read here today, EFC will also be playing at modest ground for the next couple of years pending further developments, the only problem being that when Big Tone is involved the only developments he is involved with are housing ones.

As for people leaving because of one man......true. And the blame for EFC's demise can only be aimed at that one person.

Regards
Glyn

I take it Mr Smith you are suggesting that I am the one lighting someone elses bluetouch paper. I am only responding to the several 'anonymous' postings from ETFC supporters which are placed in this forum. And you can't blame me for being upset.I disagree that the demise of EFC is totally down to one person, but in the interests of inter-club harmony I will let it rest there for now.
On a further note this is the EFC fan's forum, so supporters of other clubs really shouldn't be upset by some light-hearted banter, after all football is a passionate game, and sometimes people say what springs to mind before thinking.
