MKJames.....i have watched E.f.c on at least 6 or 7 occasions this season (when the town are not playing).

people who are(at present) watching premier league football..in a comfortable ground, nice pitch.. etc.

are less likely to come to watch lower league football,in cold and uncomfortable surroundings.

you will only attract hardcore support then...not the waverers.

also away support will be greatly reduced.

THAT'S WHY

To be fair, MKJ is clearly a reasonable and honest fellow, and when he has a poke it is only meant in jest. I take his posts in the same manner as if we're chatting in a pub.

One or two technical points: all being well Brimsdown will have a B grade ground, with fence, infilled rail, stands, seats and so on by the start of next season. Not by April 1st it is true, but next year it will be a better ground than Haringey Borough's and arguably better than Cheshunt's. Above all it is in the borough of Enfield and it already attracts support of around 300 - and that's at the so-called "park"level.

Yes, we can play FA Cup games at Brimsdown, and will be next season. We could have done so this season, but were not yet eligible for the competition. So yes, we can beat League teams in the Cup.

Neither club has got its own ground at the moment. ETFC does however have a long-term groundshare agreed, and enjoys excellent relations with its landlord. EFC? Let's not go there!

Actually no-one can get to Wenbley, James, but I know what you mean! Yes, we can get there, in the FA Vase or even the Cup (ho ho). No, we can't win the Conference, because we're not in it. Yet. The same is true for EFC of course.

I imagine that the biggest annoyance for EFC fans is constantly being left in the dark about what, if anything, is going to happen.

It seems to me that the huge majority of EFC and ETFC supporters have no problem with each other.

Fair points Mr. Invisible & Lovely stuff,as always i'm just testing the water to make the forum a little bit lively. You know I'd jump at the chance of EFC playing anywhere,at any level, even in an Enfield Sunday League, if it meant that we would be without our Tone.

And if you added the suffix "Town", they are - in the Essex Senior League.

But you can, just add a 'Town' and 'Essex Senior League' and you have your wish come true!

Very true sir, but the team I support is Enfield FC, with or (preferably)without Tony Lazarou. If EFC go bust, then fair enough I would consider ETFC, but until then....
I still prefer a re-alliance between the 2 clubs so lets just wait and see what happens towards the end of this season.

Well that's a fair response.

I don't actually think it will come to a merger though. I just cannot see from the postings, Enfield and Town fans standing on the same terracing together. Like I've said before, going to an Enfield game when Town are not playing seems too much like going along and expecting abuse. I tried it last year and there was too much of an atmosphere at my being there to want a repeat performance.

I'm sorry to hear that- we need all the support we can get. I would have expected you might get some banter, but only of the friendly variety.

It sounds as though MK James is actually one of the more sensible supporters out there who listens to both sides of the argument, makes his own mind up yet will still accept another person's point of view.

Other than that, they were both 'signed' by Tom Loizou. Hmm.....
