Now look here, there are plenty starving people in this world who would love a Pot Noddle. you really need to think about the bigger picture more than just wanting a cooked piece of dead cow sandwiched in between two pieces of milled and cooked flour accompanied by squashed tomato in vinegar, some curdled juice from a cows udder and something that the Frenchies wear around their nexk when they're cycling down to the local market!!!!! grin

The burger van that was there at the start of last season run by a pleasent couple was of a very high standard & the food was excellent (the runny egg & bacon roll was especially superb) however I believe after a domestic (which by the way accured in the middle of preparing my speciality & in front of several stunned Towners in the queue)they had disapeared by the next home game never to be replaced.

OT is spot on where will we go this season that there wont be hot food?

Witham indeed was very good as are many others in the league, I also remember the meat pies at Uxbridge were very good as well, lets look forward to this being rectified very soon.

Interesting SL - where would the burger bar be, would it be built into the existing hanger or a separate hut type of thing?

"Town Fryer" was Arky's suggestion not mine, but I like it.

The "JETS" Hangar Tea Bar would remain the same. All we want is someone to prepare Hot Food only, not any sort of drinks Hot or Cold or any of the other things that the "Hangar" now sells. I think it would be positioned where the other Burger Van used to be.

At the moment I think the Brimmo Kitchen is out of action as it is being decorated. I am not sure if it is always open though.

Do people think that having no burger hut has an affect on attendances in particular midweek games...like the original post said, some suporters come from work for evening games and dont have time to eat a hot meal or maybe anything, so may decide to give the game a miss especially during winter but maybe knowing that the ground will have a 'town fryer' may the give them a little more incentive to come along.

There are pleanty of Hot Food outlets on the way to Goldsdown Road, I am sure if people are that bothered they can stop along the way to the ground and buy something hot.

So there you have it.

We all know we would prefer some form of burger bar to provide supporters with a better quality service, especially when we play mid week evening games.

As SL indicated, there are plans to try and find the capital funding to purchase a burger bar but we are looking at a few thousand pounds! Have we got a few thousand pounds? No! Have you?

What about the company you work for? Would they like to sponsor such a bar and have their name emblazoned all over it? Worth thinking about.

PM me if you can help.

Thanks

Andy

First post from new ETFC fan...will get off my [****!!****] long enough to send over supporters joining fee.

Established and ran two rugby clubs and I know the perrenial canteen problems.

Local rugby club did deal with disabled organisation to staff canteen with their clients and minders on roster basis..with a club member on hand.

Worked really well and a win/win....extra hands(not sure if they paid them...free mebership/entry for their family, etc or the like).

Club gained community kudos as well for giving disabled work experience.

As I read it, the original point was yes sure our own profit-making burger bar would be the ideal, but until we can afford to set it up why not have nn 'outside' burger van or stall? This after all is how many other clubs do it. I don't know, they may even pay a small sum for the 'franchise'. So we'd make little or nothing out of it, but at least people could get a burger or a hot dog.

Presumably if the joint tenancy thing actually happens we will use the clubhouse catering facilities, so there is little point in investing large amounts in a burger bar now.
