Enfield 3-2 Barkingside

E's were without Dave Bound,Mark Whittington & Lee Benmore who have knocks
from last weeks match.New signings Ricardo Armado and Mel Frederick
Thompson were drafted into the squad.

An early scare for E's as Graeme Butler lost possession to Dominic Harkins
but he underhit his cross and Chris Green was able to clear. E's took
control and after a spell of forward momentum Graeme Butler's corner on 8
mins was headed back across goal by Wes Borghys and Paul Oshin arrived
between several Barkingside defenders to plant a header past Barkingside
custodian Stacy Botwell 1-0 E's . Good work by Sean Clarke and a cross was
met by Paul Oshin but Stacy Botwell was equal to it . A body check on Sean
Clarke by Brian Suchley just got Barkingside's no 5 a talking to by
Referee Mr Oldershaw. A wes Borghys freekick was well held by Stacy
Botwell on 18 mins. Adilson Lopes long throw was headed out to Kevin Riley
who blazed well over the bar on 21 mins. Paul Oshin weaves his way through
but a last ditch block by Brian Suchley halted his progress 24 mins. A
minute later it was E's who increased the lead with Deniz Mehmet picking
up a loose ball just inside Barkingside's half his pass found Sean Clarke
who blasted home a belter past Stacy Botwell giving the BARKINGSIDE KEEPER
ABSOLUTELY NO CHANCE 2-0 E's .A freekick by Paul Kavanagh was well held by
Steve Wright on 29 mins. A shot by Gregg Thompson went wide of E's goal on
32 mins. Deniz Mehmet broke through past his marker but Stacy Botwell was
quickly out to clear. A cross from Ricardo Armado almost caught out Stacy
Botwell but he managed to grab the ball as it looked to be dropping over
him 39 mins .A flare up on the touch line with Paul Oshin and Brian
Suchley got them both booked by Mr Oldershaw . H/T

2nd half (Paul Oshin was relaced by Mel Frederick Thompson) Sean Clarke
was hacked down by Corey Ellis and was rightly booked for his trouble.
Adilson Lopes shot was saved by Stacy Botwell on 47 mins . A good cross by
Wes Borghys and Sean Clarke volley's over the bar on 49 mins. (Barkingside
Sub Mark Doyle on for Mark Steadman 53mins) A shot by Gregg Thompson but
Steve Wright was well behind it 56mins. Adilson Lopes fires one wide on 57
mins. On 58 mins Barkingside found themselves back in the game with a
penalty that confused and surprised everybody, A Paul Kavanagh cross
looked to be sailing out of play but the assistant spotted a shirt tug
against Kevin Riley on Brian Suchley .Referee Mr Oldershaw took his
assistant's word and awarded the penalty, Mark Doyle smacked it home 2-1
E's. Sean Clarke puts over a good cross but Paul Kavanagh did well to
clear it away 64 mins. On 66 mins E's restored the two goal margin as
Graeme Butler's daisey cutter freekick disected Barkingside's defenders
and Adilson Lopes diverted it past Stacy Botwell 3-1 E's .(Barkingside Sub
Paul McDowell on for Jamie Langton 68 min) A let off for E's on 70 mins as
Paul Kavanagh's cross was met by Matthew Frew but he headed into the
ground and the ball just dropped just over Steve Wright's crossbar (He
should have scored) Paul Kavanagh puts over another good cross but this
time Steve Wright made a good claim. (E's sub Sherwin Stanley off for
Wayne Grant 73 mins and for Barkingside Steve Barley on for Anthony Scott
74 mins) Graeme Butler was booked for a foul on Dominic Harkins on 77
mins. A shot by Paul Kavanagh was wide on 78 mins A Graeme Butler freekick
and Sean Clarke blazes over on 79 mins, Barkingside were throwing
everything forward and they pulled one back on 84 mins as Gregg Thompson's
shot slipped from Steve Wright's grasp and Mark Doyle rammed home the
rebound 3-2 E's. A nervy finish ensued with E's playing the corner game
and running down the clock with Barkingside unable to create any furthur
problems for E's defence.

A good performence by Enfield & another 3 points, well done you Es'. Plenty of noise from behind the goal today, just like it should be every game. The Horns on top form, watch out you keepers.
Ask Chopper, he thought he was going to get away with it at Eton Manor last week. He likes getting the horn blastest at him , good luck at The Manor Chopper, see you at Wodson Park soon, hopefully.
