  11. Oxford are a decent side and last time it took a penalty shoot out for the urchins to get through in the FA Trophy i think it was. Being at home I think will be a help as this tie will be tough but with the experience and quality we have in the squad and the strength in depth I think the lads can win this tie and make the 1st round proper which would be a fantastic achievement and give the lads a chance to possibly face a football league club. lets see how we get on v Harlow on Saturday first though!

  14. Highlights from the live stream at Raunds Town last night, the penalty on the half hour mark looked a little harsh on the hosts Rhodes. I tend to agree with you regarding the soft penalty awarded to Real Bedford, remember the other week we should have been awarded a penalty it's all swings and roundabouts. although I persevered watching the match my Internet last night was much to be desired, I imagine I was able to watch 80 minutes of the match as I kept losing my connection, each time I missed the replay of the penalty incidence.
  15. Two in form teams lock horns at Hertingfordbury Park this evening.
  16. What a win for Cockfosters last night in their London FA Senior Cup First Round tie at Southern League Premier Division South Harrow Borough, see a match report and team sheet. Cockfosters will now host Barking or AFC Croydon Athletic in the Second Round which should attract a good crowd to Chalk Lane, the winners of that tie will host Cray Valley (PM) or Welling United or Phoenix Sports or Charlton Athletic in the Third Round, in other words Charlton Athletic: https://www.pitchero.com/clubs/harrowborough/teams/60083/match-centre/0-5436343/report

  18. What a win for former SSML Club Biggleswade Town last night in their FA Cup Third Qualifying Round Replay, 3-0 over Isthmian League Premier Division Billericay Town, they now travel to National League South Farnborough with the possibility of repeating their heady 2013/14 exploits by reaching the First Round proper. The Club have come a long way since leaving Fairfield in 2006 all thanks to Wader, formerly of this Parish, the groundhopper from another Forum was at Wader's Carlsberg Stadium last night who painstakingly lists all the players: FA Cup 3rd Qualifying Round Replay Biggleswade Town 3-0 Billericay Town Admission - £10, Attendance - unconfirmed Venue: The Yvette Brewer Stadium (Langford Road) - On the outskirts of Biggleswade, this was a 261st ground for me. Set back off the road, there is a decent amount of parking and another 11 a side pitch with dugouts to the right of the lane. There is a long single story building with the clubhouse, changing rooms etc. On the touchline is the main stand which is a large modern eBay seated stand which seats around 500 I believe. Offset behind one goal is a small covered standing shelter. The opposite touchline with the dugouts has another small standing shelter central to the touchline. All 4 sides are available for hard standing. Game - Billericay were by far the superior side in the first 10 minutes with relentless pressing and at a very quick pace. That being said, Biggleswade looked excellent at what they did and didn’t make any mistakes. The best early chances fell to the Waders with a direct free kick well saved. The Waders took the lead when a corner was placed right onto the line and Billericay just decided that the ball was a grenade and moved away allowing the ball to be bundled in. It was a quick fire second when a sloppy pass from a Billericay defender was countered upon by 3 relentless Waders down the right and precisely finished to make it 2-0. Billericay had some half chances going into half time but nothing too troubling for the Waders keeper. The second half was all Billericay but they didn’t muster a proper chance until around the 70th minute when a header was well saved by the Waders keepers feet. Yet again, against the play, a counter from Waders saw a long range effort swerve and squirm under the Billericay keepers fingers, 3-0. The third goal killed the game off and any efforts from Billericay were minimal. A well deserved victory for the home side in a game where they were clinical with their chances. 19. The commentator mentioned 2 players are on holiday (one climbing Kilimanjaro apparently) and 2 didn't play because they ran the London Marathon on Sunday. At least the four of them didn't miss an important game!
  20. Rob SincIair gives an interesting assessment of Iast night's performance:
  21. I was at this game last night and nobody anticipated what we saw. First goal after 20 seconds. 7-0 at half time and 9-0 at full time. Buckingham keeper made several decent saves to keep his clean sheet. There are 4 or 5 new players in that team and they've made all the difference. Looking forward to picking up some points in the League now.

  23. You really have to hand it to Leverstock Green don't you, they always produce a super quick match report come rain or shine: (H) Colney Heath – Leverstock Green F.C. (levgreenfc.co.uk)
  24. I'd have been more confident v the Parkas of Plymouth, but can't really complain about a home tie against a Con S side. Who we beat a few years ago and are more worried about us than we are about them. Onwards to a famous win v Orient in the first round. (I trust). We need to get through to the second round as I'm not sure I can make the first round if it's on the Saturday. For our last 1st round proper match (Peterborough, 2008-9 - on a Sunday), I was at a wedding. On the Saturday. So what? Well it was in the bloomin' Lake District and I couldn't pursuade Mrs Jago to leave at 0600 on the Sunday morning to get down for the 2pm kick off. We are still together but it was a close call. Anyway, enough of me. COME ON YOU URCHINS.
  25. Good work JR - didn't know who you were (are!) - but yes the Swedes were certainly good eggs. I'll be trying to sign you up for the prediction league at the Beer Fest - so start thinking of your excuses now!
  26. Loved the Swedish fans...such fun and what about the best mascot ever!! Had such a great weekend, great to catch up with so many of you, get our supporters' cards renewed and pickup some brilliant merch including the class FA Trophy signed shirt. Are back over for the Ornfest weekend...drying out in the meantime🤣🤣
