Dave Winfield has gone to Ramsgate, not that he played much this season.

The annual presentation night will be held in the clubhouse on Thursday evening.

Doors open at 6pm, with the presentations roughly around 8pm.

In the PL it was all about Mika Godts (who?) who popped up to bang in an injury time equaliser for Ajax.  This put his namesake MikeMike through and consigned BabyJago (who’d been coasting to victory until that goal) to another year in the wilderness.    Elsewhere, two former giants of the game (former being the operative word), locked horns, with His Lordship triumphing over Cup Of Tea.  And no, that late equaliser made no difference here.  Results below:

Onwards to the final where MikeMike and Lord Upminster need to predict upon the following morsels.  A place in the promised land awaits (subject to rule 3.7 but I won’t bore you all with the details of that now).

And in the PL it’s Ozzy, Ozzy, Ozzy, Oi, Oi, Oi.  Well done Ozz who held his nerve to see off the late challenge of Urchin Queen and win his FIFTH title.  And no he doesn’t get to keep the trophy but is most welcome to pop to Trophyland and get himself something gorgeous engraved for his mantelpiece.

Most of the drama was at the bottom where unexpected wins for each of Clive, Mr D and Dinamo conspired to put Sir Colin down on goals scored after he could only draw with Luke.   No, I wouldn’t want to be in their shoes either... he was looking pretty safe in 6th position at the start of the day.  Also relegated is Nick, who joins UrchinYid and Marta who had already dusted off their RAC road atlas for division 2 football next season.

Adrian’s extraordinary scoring continued in Division 2 where he has potted an incredible 12 goals more than anyone else this season.  A deserved champion, but whether he can keep that going against the tighter defences in Div 1 next year remains to be seen.   Cup of Tea typically blew his auto-promotion spot to enable Blackballed to nab third, and Baby Jago beat Fat Tom to sneak into the final play-off spot after Pat had clearly been on the Guinness.

Last but not least, The Desperado finally roused himself to smash in an impressive 13 versus Mick The Bat – and this was enough to pass the Wooden Spoon to Old Urchin on the final day.

Phew.  I need a lie down after all that.  Playoffs next week.

As it can in the Prediction League.  Ozz just needed a win yesterday to secure the title, but being the generous fellow he is he contrived to keep the agony going a week longer by drawing with Paul.  So the smart money remains on Ozz but both the senior Jagos are still in with a decent shout.

Further down the table we bid a fond farewell to Marta and UrchinYid (whose PL troubles are the least of his footballing worries!). I'm sure they will be back soon as both are PL royalty.  Then it’s all still up for grabs – though I will find it difficult to relegate Luke or Paul without the Fraud Squad investigating.

In Division 2 Adrian is basically toying with us.  He’s already guaranteed to go up – but was that enough?  No!  He only went and got the crowd spot-on as just one part of his demolition of the hapless Desperado.  Top work Adrian.  Also guaranteed promotion is the Diamond Geezer, despite his season of chaotic crowd predictions (1900 at Chippenham? – I don’t think so! – but well done anyway).
