cup of tea and 11 others reacted to Chairman Al for a topic
Afternoon, everyone, Alex Sharp here, I’ve finally found the fabled forum everyone speaks about! Well what an afternoon, I think my best day (so far!) as Hornchurch Chairman, so proud of everyone involved with the club, in really difficult circumstances we put on a show yesterday, on and off the pitch, this is a very special team we are building here and irrespective of what happens with the League next week, it’s been an honour to watch these fellas get better and better every game they play. So many have said it but they left nothing out there yesterday, I saw players exhausted walking off t12 points -

I’m sorry, but this is outrageous. This season I’ve been extremely grateful for (and greatly impressed by), the streaming services for our games offered for free by Hampton & Richmond, Tonbridge Angels and Dulwich Hamlet. Nothing beats being at the match itself, but those clubs put in a tremendous effort so that we could watch the games. The Supporters Association recognised the benefits that these services provide and have spent a significant sum of money so that we could offer both our own and Kings Lynn’s fans the same. We all recognise that we are unlikely to see live footb8 points -

first and foremost - get well soon dibs. I get that all football clubs are losing revenue and are struggling, but to me the £12 price tag is a tad excessive, particularly when you bear in mind that a nowtv 24hr sky sports pass will get you 11 channels you can watch on 2 devices at the same time at pretty high quality for £9.99. do Kings Lynn really think this is any sort of value for money and that if someone wants to watch sport, that they'll spend more to watch them rather than sky? If any football club is going to survive the current crisis, it will be reliant on the goodwill and t7 points -

I'm in total disagreement that we should be charging fans the privilege of £12 to watch a game that cannot be attended in person. Let's not forget the good will gestures of Dulwich Hamlet, Tonbridge Angels and Hampton & Richmond for streaming the respective FA Trophy and FA Cup games free of charge. In my opinion, as we are the home team the final say should be with us, the club, as to whether we charge or not although I know that cannot be the case.7 points -

Also, the rationale behind the donation approach certainly wasn't to "pull a fast one". We had visited Hampton & Richmond in the FA Cup, along with Tonbridge Angels and Dulwich Hamlet in the Trophy. All 3 National South sides streamed for free with an optional donation element. As an example, Dulwich's justgiving page for their stream: https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/dhfctv We never looked at these free streams as money lost, nor did we expect to take a cut of their donations, we were just extremely pleased that our supporters could get to watch their team in a behind6 points -

As a Kings Lynn fan, its great that you are trying to put the game on for free., we get ripped off almost every week, the programme for our 1st game cost £15. Stick to your guns, you will have the backing of a lot of Lynn fans, we would love it to be free!6 points -
It’s a no for me on pure principle basis the £12 fee they mention I assume they want some/all of it ? So from their greed not only do our fans suffer theirs do too! You really would think that in troubled world we all live in today that a smaller club (apparently) trying to bring some cheer to people free of charge they would endorse it not try and prevent it. Quite frankly I find it ridiculous they are requesting this. We are the smaller club with the smaller budget who were going to stream the game for free yet they are demanding a fee! Let’s not forget the supporters association paid just short of £1000 to get this game out to the fans free of charge! I am fully against Kings Lynns proposal.6 points -

With the move to Tier 2 restrictions here in Havering and the potential economic impact that this will bring as we approach winter, the Supporters Association has agreed that we will now collect foodbank donations at each home game, rather than on a monthly basis. Contributions can be left at the Track & Trace stations or Clubhouse entrance. After speaking with club officials this morning I think it’s only right the a few things are cleared up in relation to this. The club does not condone foul and abusive behaviour towards players, officials or staff and has reiterated this the last few years and with a number of posters around the ground highlighting this. The behaviour last night was not acceptable, we know who is responsible and the persons involved will be spoken too. I understand that people can get frustrated at games, myself included and some things are directed at players etc. Whilst this happens at all gam6 points

Morning to you and thanks for commenting on our post. Unfortunately I am not a member on your linnets forum but am guessing you may be? Having read some of the comments on there I feel as though some explanation is needed - - Hornchurch Supporters Association is a non profit part of the club who support the club and raise money for charity as well as fundraising for community projects. - we spent near on £1000 of our money to buy the camera, microphones etc to film games for our fans. (Kings Lynn Game would have been the 1st) - these games were going to be streamed for FREE to5 points -
Thanks Luke. If as much energy had gone into encouraging our own players as was directed at opposition players and the referee in the form of abuse, then we might have won last night. Abuse thrown at opposition players only makes them more determined in my opinion - I hope I'm not the only one who can see that. I'll shut up now.5 points

Dear All, Apologies for the confusion yesterday with this but I can now confirm this is going ahead!! This year unfortunately the annual cricket game cannot go ahead due to certain restrictions put on the cricket club by the ECB so instead we have something different planned..... Sunday 30th August at the football club the bar will be open and there will be a bbq on the go too! We will also have rounders set up on the pitch as well as access to a quick cricket set. This is a family event so bring your friends, bring your children, bring you family and let’s raise some funds5 points

Wow, what a performance, where did that come from? Not many of us were expecting that, especially when we saw the team without the likes of Sam Hatton, Sam Youngs and Ken Charles (and Mario Noto also unavailable from the bench). What we saw was an assured professional outing, 3 good goals (touch of handball for the second?) and, most pleasingly, a clean sheet! Hard to believe that was, I think, our 9th clean sheet of the season but our first for over 2 months. I thought Tuesdays performance was one of the best of the season. Solid at the back , energetic and creative in midfield and clinical up top. Ruff and Nash seem to have clicked straight away , Jordan Clark just gets better every game no matter what position. I thought muldoon looked solid in central midfield, it’s just a shame with all the disruption that we have assembled a great squad that will challenge for the title but may well not get the opportunity to do so. Sorry we have not attended any home matches this season but Jean is slowly getting over her stroke and we have my mother living with us. At 97 she is very active but she has not been out since April and we have to be careful not to bring home any infections. So for a while we are self isolating as a precaution. Even the great Enfield sides of the 70s and 80s only attracted gates of 500 - 600 or so for most league fixtures often less. So the fact that our average attendance is around the 360 is a reflection of our location. Many other football options exist for Enfield based football supporters. What a difference it would make if we got the type of crowds being enjoyed by Worthing. This has arguably been one if not most successful seasons we have had , consistently in the top 7 or 8 , one of our better FA cup runs and our best ever FA Trophy run. Agree with much of what was said in the previous two posts - what was pleasing was the way we battled to the end and kept the clean sheet. Should have put the game to bed earlier but Bishop's Stortford will feel they could have got something out of the game if they'd taken their chances so I think we should be pleased with the 3 points.
