Afternoon, everyone, Alex Sharp here, I’ve finally found the fabled forum everyone speaks about! Well what an afternoon, I think my best day (so far!) as Hornchurch Chairman, so proud of everyone involved with the club, in really difficult circumstances we put on a show yesterday, on and off the pitch, this is a very special team we are building here and irrespective of what happens with the League next week, it’s been an honour to watch these fellas get better and better every game they play. So many have said it but they left nothing out there yesterday, I saw players exhausted walking off t

  4. I’m sorry, but this is outrageous. This season I’ve been extremely grateful for (and greatly impressed by), the streaming services for our games offered for free by Hampton & Richmond, Tonbridge Angels and Dulwich Hamlet. Nothing beats being at the match itself, but those clubs put in a tremendous effort so that we could watch the games. The Supporters Association recognised the benefits that these services provide and have spent a significant sum of money so that we could offer both our own and Kings Lynn’s fans the same. We all recognise that we are unlikely to see live footb

There hard work and dedication paid off with over one hundred vouchers used on match day. Keep up the great work guys. even their hard work

I just can't get enough I just can't get enough I just can't get enough I just can't get enough seriously though - well done to the players and staff and legendary groundsmen and our leadership, I am just so happy. it was a strange old match, I don't actually think we were all in the same half when Maidstone made it 4-4. I am so bloody proud of our little pub team from Essex who are keeping the football season alive. thankyou for today Hornchurch. as for the debut youtube stream. volume aside, the commentary was excellent and pitched at just the right l

  7. first and foremost - get well soon dibs. I get that all football clubs are losing revenue and are struggling, but to me the £12 price tag is a tad excessive, particularly when you bear in mind that a nowtv 24hr sky sports pass will get you 11 channels you can watch on 2 devices at the same time at pretty high quality for £9.99. do Kings Lynn really think this is any sort of value for money and that if someone wants to watch sport, that they'll spend more to watch them rather than sky? If any football club is going to survive the current crisis, it will be reliant on the goodwill and t

  8. I'm in total disagreement that we should be charging fans the privilege of £12 to watch a game that cannot be attended in person. Let's not forget the good will gestures of Dulwich Hamlet, Tonbridge Angels and Hampton & Richmond for streaming the respective FA Trophy and FA Cup games free of charge. In my opinion, as we are the home team the final say should be with us, the club, as to whether we charge or not although I know that cannot be the case.

  11. I would like to thank everyone that put nice messages on AFC Hornchurch’s twitter page and forum. It means so much to me, I was overwhelmed and humbled by them all. After making this heart wrenching decision, which I felt was best for the club, I thought it best to address you, the fans, who have supported me throughout my entire time in charge here at this great club. Not only have you supported me through the good times, you have backed me in the bad times aswell, which is a rare thing in today’s world. Whoever inherits the managers job, will inherit the best fans and people in football toda

  13. Also, the rationale behind the donation approach certainly wasn't to "pull a fast one". We had visited Hampton & Richmond in the FA Cup, along with Tonbridge Angels and Dulwich Hamlet in the Trophy. All 3 National South sides streamed for free with an optional donation element. As an example, Dulwich's justgiving page for their stream: https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/dhfctv We never looked at these free streams as money lost, nor did we expect to take a cut of their donations, we were just extremely pleased that our supporters could get to watch their team in a behind

  14. As a Kings Lynn fan, its great that you are trying to put the game on for free., we get ripped off almost every week, the programme for our 1st game cost £15. Stick to your guns, you will have the backing of a lot of Lynn fans, we would love it to be free!

  15. It’s a no for me on pure principle basis the £12 fee they mention I assume they want some/all of it ? So from their greed not only do our fans suffer theirs do too! You really would think that in troubled world we all live in today that a smaller club (apparently) trying to bring some cheer to people free of charge they would endorse it not try and prevent it. Twitter here I come Ps well done the SA getting the equipment together and paying the cost class act

  16. Quite frankly I find it ridiculous they are requesting this. We are the smaller club with the smaller budget who were going to stream the game for free yet they are demanding a fee! Let’s not forget the supporters association paid just short of £1000 to get this game out to the fans free of charge! I am fully against Kings Lynns proposal.

With the move to Tier 2 restrictions here in Havering and the potential economic impact that this will bring as we approach winter, the Supporters Association has agreed that we will now collect foodbank donations at each home game, rather than on a monthly basis. Contributions can be left at the Track & Trace stations or Clubhouse entrance. After speaking with club officials this morning I think it’s only right the a few things are cleared up in relation to this. The club does not condone foul and abusive behaviour towards players, officials or staff and has reiterated this the last few years and with a number of posters around the ground highlighting this. The behaviour last night was not acceptable, we know who is responsible and the persons involved will be spoken too. I understand that people can get frustrated at games, myself included and some things are directed at players etc. Whilst this happens at all gam

  22. We were absolutely immense last night! We played some really good football and i thought we created the lionshare of the chances with their keeper making a few cracking saves! I don't think many keepers would of saved Charlie's goal, what an absolute screamer! Sutton and Parcell seemed back on it and it was good to see George skinning full backs again! How on earth was that scramble at the end kept out!! Its a shame we couldn't play like that Saturday as we would of wiped the floor with Corinthians!

  24. The well deserved plaudits for today's performance will surely flood in but a mention for the Urchins behind the goal who resisted the urge to taunt 'head fans with well loved classics such as "10 men, we only need 10 men" and "1-0 and you messed it up". Standing by the Home bench was also interesting as they became increasingly irate. The assistant manager putting his fist through the perspex when we equalised was unexpected and one of the other coaches complaining to the ref "He took 15 seconds from when you blew the whistle" also amused. But beyond that, oh my goodness, talk about knuc

Well what can you say to that performance absolutely outstanding to go down to 10 men and then come back from 1-0 down to win 1-2 is outstanding the team worked so hard the midfield was brilliant spence with his goal Clark with his holding play but christou that boy never stops chasing balls and is a great asset to the team the defence were solid and Ron and Charlie were brilliant so a great performance roll on next week

  28. Huge congratulations to all of the staff and players for pulling off yet another upset against higher league opposition. The spirit within the team to keep coming back, despite being behind or instantly pegged back, was incredible. Also, well done to all involved in the Livestream. It has been a hugely nervous few days, but well done to Jordan and Billy for the stream and camera work. The feedback I've had from neutrals was all really positive. It pains me to say so, but Luke and Jago also deserve huge credit. I've no idea what bollocks they chatted, but massive kudos for having the ba

Having read some of the comments on there I feel as though some explanation is needed - - Hornchurch Supporters Association is a non profit part of the club who support the club and raise money for charity as well as fundraising for community projects. - we spent near on £1000 of our money to buy the camera, microphones etc to film games for our fans. (Kings Lynn Game would have been the 1st) - these games were going to be streamed for FREE to

Thanks Luke. If as much energy had gone into encouraging our own players as was directed at opposition players and the referee in the form of abuse, then we might have won last night. Abuse thrown at opposition players only makes them more determined in my opinion - I hope I'm not the only one who can see that. I'll shut up now.

  32. Dear All, Apologies for the confusion yesterday with this but I can now confirm this is going ahead!! This year unfortunately the annual cricket game cannot go ahead due to certain restrictions put on the cricket club by the ECB so instead we have something different planned..... Sunday 30th August at the football club the bar will be open and there will be a bbq on the go too! We will also have rounders set up on the pitch as well as access to a quick cricket set. This is a family event so bring your friends, bring your children, bring you family and let’s raise some funds

  36. Wow, what a performance, where did that come from? Not many of us were expecting that, especially when we saw the team without the likes of Sam Hatton, Sam Youngs and Ken Charles (and Mario Noto also unavailable from the bench). What we saw was an assured professional outing, 3 good goals (touch of handball for the second?) and, most pleasingly, a clean sheet! Hard to believe that was, I think, our 9th clean sheet of the season but our first for over 2 months. All the boys put in a real shift on a cold night - stand out performers for me were Junior Mubayi (a really mature performanc

Guys and gals - the tweets are the views of one or two individuals. Social media is not fact - and rarely does it reflect the opinions of the majority (just check any political nonsense on twitter for example). But it is a good place for people who struggle with normal face-to-face communication to voice their views or prejudices in a safe environment, especially after the event. So - I'd ignore and move on. Responding just legitimises the debate with people who have a lot of time on their hands to get in the last word - so probably will (generally 20-something media graduates and the like

  41. As a newcomer to the Urchin cause I have only ever seen Nathan Cooper on the opposing team but he always stood out with awesome performances. Glenn seems to have settled quickly though and his experience at higher levels will hopefully get the clean sheets coming in again. From my Thurrock days, it took a while for Jordan to find a settled position rather than filling in wherever necessary as a utility player but once he started sitting in front of the back 4 at the bottom of a diamond he found his home, from comments I have read many long-term Urchins seem to think the same way. 43. Not sure why some people seem to think this is some sort of secret society - the club has always been very open and honest with its finances. Profit and Loss Accounts, covering income and expenditure, are presented annually at members' meetings and are published on the club's website. The most up to date figures presented for ETFC Ltd are those to 30/6/18 (so I would expect those to 30/6/19 will be provided shortly). The figures to 30/6/18 showed a rise in Playing Staff Expenses from £105,181 in the year to 30/6/17 to £125,590. It will be interesting to see how this changed in the followi

  44. Wow, what a game. Obviously the first 5 minutes were a bit of a car crash and the 15-20 weren't terrific either. But after that it was one way traffic. Good to see George Saunders getting so many crosses in, made a real difference. But the most impressive thing I feel was the work rate put in by every single yellow shirted player. Did more than enough to have won the game and their keeper being given man of the match I think tells the whole story.

Genuinely two footed, with more skill than he's given credit for, he has done a great job not only at right back, but also left back, centre back and in midfield when called upon. I certainly don't think of him as one who has cost us points. I'm sure you could look back over all the videos and say that Callum should have saved/not spilled that; defender "x" was out of position there; midfielder "y" didn't track back there; striker "z" missed an absolute sitter there. AFC Hornchurch vs Margate

Without doubt a very important game. The away fixture was a very miserable Tuesday night where each side played with and against the tide. It was my first Urchin away game and I was very surprised at how many Urchins travelled. Margate were in much better shape at that time and a 0-0 draw was a good result (I am choosing to ignore the blatant handball that only three persons failed to see and my failing memory also seems to think Hx had the ball over the line but not given [I just re-read the match report and there is no mention of this second opinion and I was on the half way line so mus
