OldTowner reacted to Sweetnicker in League Cup v Amber's
C D TOWNER ?? Not a nice thing to call me a Muppet is it , Very undiplomatic is that , So when's your Op then to become TS TOWNER Lol
But on a serious note , Yes we are building the foundations for a very exciting future , Plans for a 5,000 all seater stadium are in place and the means for It's upkeep , 3G pitches are now in place earning the club much needed revenue , Its all very positive and going in the right direction . You lot will be looking on in envious awe .

OldTowner got a reaction from lovely stuff in Play Offs Plot
LS, major lessons and issues to learn from this pre season and first month of season.
Cannot be repeated pre season 16/17.
Simples!!

OldTowner got a reaction from MbrunoB in Farnborough v Enfield Town - match fred
Interesting at Beveren yesterday.
Their league match had 2 officials - Ref and one Lino.
So for the first time ever seeing a one Lino game, we saw two in two days.
Weird or what !!!

OldTowner got a reaction from lovely stuff in Enfield Town v Thamesmead Town
Chesham centre back, the best I have seen this season and word is he lives in Ladysmith Road a stones throw from QEII.
What are our massive team of coaches and scouts doing ??

OldTowner got a reaction from 1F in Enfield in Enfield Town v Thamesmead Town
Not going to say......told you so, but go back up these posts.
Quote me.expect a tough game.
Vines scores goals against us.
Very poor performance.
No real energy from Town.
Out fought all over the pitch.
Why does Bobby take pens, how many has he scored, how many missed ?
Credit Thamesmead for doing a good job on us.
Poor Towners I am afraid.

I M O we are missing Lockie BIG time.
Let's hope he can sort out his injury, get fit soon and return.

You make a good point.
Mine was just a suggestion. No more . No less.
Let's worry about it at 5 on Sat !!!!!!!

Then voucher who attend Hendon and / or Trophy games
Them public.
Easy.

OldTowner got a reaction from Tally Ho in Hitchin cup replay
Amazing, poor comments from "some" Hitchin supporters about our win and style.
Sour grapes or what.
Funny no mention about Frendo and their 8 with their bully boy tactics !!
In fairness, a few confirm we "wanted it more"
Good as it gets.
Ha Ha.
Cash the £7.500 cheque and off to Chesham we go.

OldTowner got a reaction from Steph in FA Trophy v Grays
So, you are looking for a Supporter / Chairman / Owner, who will be a Member and run the Club with his ( or her ) money, but let the supporters elected Board run the Supporters Owned Club.
It there such a being ?

OldTowner got a reaction from Plumstead Blue in FA Trophy v Grays
Strong words Plumstead Blue, ......strong words indeed, but on balance.....I am afraid not far off being spot on.
A toothless performance.
Lack-luster approach.
Very poor attitude.
No Leadership on ( or off ) the field of play.
Downright Poor
And against a Grays side who, by their own fans admission, are not exactly brilliant !!
Some are calling for the Managers Head...however, was he responsible for :-
1, The totally idiotic free kick given away in front of the lino, 1.0m from the line with the Grays man facing the running track.
What a stupid act of defending.
2, Being totally unable to defend a ball whacked across aimlessly and with 10 Town players in the box, not one could get on the end and clear it, let alone allowing the ball to deflect of a defender into the net.
Surely the answer has to be no ?
Surely the Players need to look at themselves and at that very poor level of performance ?
As for the Team selection leaving Liam on the bench and then giving him just 25 mins, well, others can comment.
Far too many Players with poor attitude and more than one playing out of position.
Much needed cash for a supporters run Club....GONE - Nothing now until next season.
Next 3 League matches are BIGGER than the Cup game today, as they will set the scene for the rest of our Season.

OldTowner got a reaction from MbrunoB in Lewes tonight
There are a few comments on here regarding the low budget.
My understanding from Steve's prog notes are that the budget has been increased over last season.
Well dear Supporter of a Supporters Club, if you want the Manager to have a bigger budget, support the club in every way you can, ie not just the Saturday fixture.
Support the Bar.
Support the Social side.
Support the Commercial side
Book Butler's for an event.
Get your work place to sponsor the Club, a match, the ball anything.
Spread the word that Town actually play football in ENFIELD.
Etc
Etc.
Supporters run Clubs like ours, need funding.
Yes, wins on the pitch and entertaining football will help, but to get that we need better players and that costs money.
All a bit chicken and egg really.

OldTowner got a reaction from Enfield United in Whitehawk v Town - GAME ON
Thanks.
Some good views from outside of the Club.
I for one am certainly not calling for heads to roll, I just think we need some fresh blood in the squad.
Management Board and Team Management do need to act on this as the current squad is undoubtedly short in quality and certainly numbers.
Tuesday is the start of the 2nd part of our season.

OldTowner got a reaction from Enfield United in Dedicated Win
Hope supporters will not mind, but I think it would be a great gesture to dedicate this win and promotion to two of the Clubs, Great Guys.
Roy and Ron.
Sure they were both looking down on our big day with a smile.
RIP.

OldTowner got a reaction from MbrunoB in Dare to believe?
Here we go again.
Let's start believing.
Tough game v Grays on Thursday.
Forget the 3 - 0 win last Saturday and lets start new game with a good, large supportive attendance.
We need 100's and 100's there cheering on the Town.
Fresh game - fresh start.
Win this game and then a Final at HOME.
Come on you TOWNERS.
START TO BELIEVE.
-
OldTowner got a reaction from Enfield United in Play Off Preparations
yer.............thanks
it did get sorted !!
maldon and harlow were unacceptable.
a point from each game and we would be in the Prem tonight.
but hey, there are a few games where all teams can say, what if this, what if that.
may still have 2 very hard games to go.

OldTowner got a reaction from Barney in Questions.
A few interesting questions raised on other threads about player selection, substitutions, new players and players that have left.
We will all have our opinions, but none count, so we may as well get on with it and support the team selected.
We have 6 tough League games and obviously staying second would assist in what we hope will be TWO play off FINALS.
So, EIGHT games, EIGHT wins and we are there.
I, like everyone else, have an opinion, but we all need to support the Club, the Manager and the TEAM over these next EIGHT GAMES starting next week against a tough Harlow team..
Everyone, get behind the Team.
As someone once said, it's a funny old game, so you never know what may happen to Leiston in the next few weeks, who knows, perhaps they wil relax !!
Come on Towners.

OldTowner got a reaction from MbrunoB in Enfield Town vs Ilford
For what it's worth - in my opinion Jey is the best left sided attacking mid-field player we have.
In that position, he can defend, but also attack all the way down the wing, cross and has a knack of scoring.
He would be in my team.
I am sure others will have their opinions.
-
OldTowner got a reaction from thegroundsman in Haircuts at the Donkey Dome......
Looks like a good signing.
Just need him to bring along Cally, the Heybridge goal scoring centre forward.
I hope Jay is not the one to be dropped - could do with Jay pushing forward. Sweet crosser.
-
OldTowner reacted to CD Towner in Ware did Town go ?
That's true. Lee Allen seems to have been forgotten as a midfielder! And as we are without Pennant, it might be worth a re-shuffle. I'd like to see Lockie back in the team also for his energy and forward runs.
Decisions Mr Newing!
