  1. Defamatory statements ???? Where exactly ??? Stating that 8 players averaging 25 may not be that young and asking openly what the average age of other CCL teams may be . Awful example from a board member that 8 equalling 25 could equal 21 with three teenagers . What if Hart had played . What if Davis had played . Shipton mentioned as one of the younger Redhill players that is not constantly referred to as the youthful / young Shipton. Clearly no one has a monopoly on any approach to how a club should be run but from reading match day programmes and getting real time updates Dorking appear to over state the young bit . Don't want to argue with anyone but really can't get this aggressive attitude . Mr Mahony please explain what comment was defamatory and If I agree I will apologise . If you've thrown your weight around inappropriately perhaps you will do the same.
  2. Wow . I will leave it there then . Reading between the lines I assume you think you know me Jeff . You do not . This is a forum and I had hoped my opinion having assumed an allegiance to Dorking was able to be posted without the aggressive responses you seem to post . I really don't care or want to take issue with you as I don't know you nor do I wish to given your rudeness . If I bore you then don't respond ! Dorkings programme and twitter feed makes consistent reference to youth and I merely observed that a side with 8 players averaging 25 does not seem to be particularly young . I wish you well and hope you achieve your publicised aims and ambitions as you must truly believe in them and moreover that they are being delivered despite the facts that suggest they are not . Good luck to anyone that dares to comment suggesting otherwise.
  3. Oh ok . My mistake . Match report which was published after my comment made reference to more experience being brought in which was what I was saying , but must have got my words wrong or they we're miss interpreted or I've unintentionally upset someone somewhere. Is an average age of those 8 at 25 or thereabouts youthful ? That's a question not a sarcastic comment . Out of interest what are the average ages of teams in the CCL. A comparison would be interesting given Dorkings apparent obsession with suggesting they are promoting youth over and above all others . Comment based purely on programmes ( surely 5 references to youth ) is enough for anyone and the twitter feed which seems to take every opportunity to say how young they are. Anyway Redhill Wednesday to watch the youthful Shipton blah blah blah.
  4. Mr Big . I have I guess moved my following to Redhill although I was at Dorking today to witness there predicted victory . It seems the philosophy of young players being the way forward was abandoned for today at least as Hunte Lunn Miller Mothee Webber Gough and Brazil and even Russel to a degree have a few years behind them and don't appear to be any younger than a couple of other teams I've seen this year . Just mentioning this as there always to be such a major statement being made about young local players . It was all over the programme . I guess recent results may have played a part . Today's game lacked any quality whatsoever and on this showing both sides have a long season ahead of them . Mind you next week they may be world beaters and my insignificant post today can rightly be consigned to the what does he know category !
  5. Watched The Lobsters at Frimley Green earlier this season . Would say that Dorking have half a chance tomorrow . Frimley were poorish when I saw them and the new look Dorking are clearly progressing and from what I read have been unfortunate in their recent results so expect a win for Dorking FC. Won't be there unfortunately but will follow with interest on Twitter which to be fair to the Chicks is as informative as you can get.
  6. Decent game for Redhill at Frimley. Chances at a premium , redhill taking there's when they had them . Frimley will be top half at least with redhill possibly able to achieve more on today's showing . Saw my original local choice of club had an unfortunate loss but given the level of domination reported I'm sure they will be ok. It will all begin to take shape over the next few weeks but I believe the redhill roller coaster will have many more ups than downs in the ccl1.
  7. Enjoyed my first competitive fixture as a lobster and but for regular jaunts to the Spanish Islands would've looked like a lobster in that glorious sunshine . Decent performance with lots of energy and purpose in the game and some good work especially going forward . I would imagine based on my little experience of the ccl1 that Redhill will score plenty but ocassionally leave themselves open particularly when they unnecessarily over commit . Would expect top 5 from what I know at the very least.
  8. Premier 1 Hartley Wintney 2 Knaphill 3 Guildford City Division 1 1 Chessington and Hook United 2 Balham 3 Redhill
  9. Mr Smudge . That can only be Stevens surely as wasn't the ground closed whilst he was in charge.. Can't see anyone else having been manager during this period .
  10. Like many others I guess I'm beginning to wish i never asked. By way of a response to several points that have been made , are we working on the basis that if you comment on this forum you are obliged to contribute your time to any given club and comment alone is not allowed. I would find it particularly difficult to contribute to any football club with the lack of available time at my disposal despite some having you believe that if you can type a comment you should offer your services ! Also I don't want to get involved any more than I do with Coventry City who I also follow. As for not reporting pre season games , Dorking certainly did according to their website from 2012 / 2013 with in some cases not only the result but a brief report as well. It appears for some of those it may have been the previous manager although the name is spelt slightly differently. In fact it seems only to be a recent decision to curtail this ,coinciding with the new owners coming in. Is there a reason behind this decision or do they not fully understand what an interested follower might want to know.
  11. I know I was lectured previously about Dorking and their approach to pre season match reports but........ Anyone know yesterday's result. In the build up to the game the importance of playing Corinthian Casuals couldn't be stated enough so I'm a little surprised the result hasn't been published . Again!!!!!
  12. Perhaps based on the following of threads over the last year , Mr Nobber has a handle on Dorking FC . He always seems to be there or thereabouts , so given my imminent change of allegiance I would welcome his views on what is going on as he seems almost sensible by comparison to the persons behind the nonsense that usually comes out of the club. I am sumising you were the last manager or player of some note. Sorry Mr Nosher
  13. Based on recent posts on other threads I think I when in Blighty I must become a wanderer as I go round and round , and this secret squirrel nonsense from my adopted team on match reports and announcements like put it in your diary but I can't tell you why is quite honestly doing my swede in.
  14. I get the modern world bit ....... But if they are able to e mail game information to someone else wouldn't it be more efficient to just put that on the website / Twitter. Just saying !
  15. Very fair shout Mr Krooner. I'm back and forth to Gran Canaria so not a practical option but one in different circumstances I would welcome . Still ! What is going on ! Unless everyone that was involved in this capacity ( the social media bit ) has left with Mr Stevens and Mr Herd . As Delia famously said " come on let's be avvin you , where are you " . All I'm after is a bit of information .
  16. I realise my request was a shot in the dark for some game information , but what is happening at Dorking . Last year the website and twitter details were a reliable source of information , now I can't find a damn thing out. Still I pride myself on a degree of loyalty so will stick with them as my adopted team . For now at least ! If everything remains a mystery then I guess I will do what the rest of the local community have done and become a wanderer.
  17. Wandered by Dorking Rugby Club today and briefly watched a much changed Dorking team in action . Be obliged if anyone could post the final score and team news as only recognised 1 player from last season. The few moments I watched they seemed to be a bit overawed.
  18. I guess it's just not the done thing . I understand the game moves on but where is the line drawn . Should we propose that the opening 6 games are all cup competitions so fixtures secretary's know where they are at for league requirements having got answers to certain questions regarding the FA Cup FA Vase League Cups County Cups ? Surely Cups are played around the league season and whatever the changes at the top end your FA Cup dream should last after 4 45 on the first week of the season.
  19. Not convinced that Mr Big actually ever knows anything relevant . Appears always to suggest he is in the know but since I started following Dorking he hasn't ever provided any information about them.
  20. Seems a good appointment given the clubs well documented philosophy , that is if the job description is anything to go by . Slight alarm bells at hearing key buzz words in Danny Foxs wireless broadcast like pathway and his previous working relationship with Mark White at Dorking Wanderers as reinforces a local belief that two clubs will become one quite soon. However I for one am looking forward to watching the squad performing under his guidance at Westhumble next season.
  21. Mr Jeff I'm assuming from your comments you feel I am someone that you know. I can assure you that you are mistaken if that is the case. I'm rarely in the area however when I am I nail my colours to local non league football and in particular Dorking FC. Like my support of Las Palmas and back here in England ,Coventry City , I take an interest which is why I commented on the application process , making reference to the fact that games were still to be played, unlike Hanworth Villa who had completed their schedule. No criticism of Mr Big. I assumed from his posts he was an official of the club or at least a follower and would be able to offer reasoned comment and I was wrong. First Team Management appear to have done OK. I'm sure there's things I don't know. Mr Jeff you seem to be involved so can offer that insightful comment. Don't know too much about the players although have seen Smith playing at Horsham YMCA he seems talented.Dan Bransbury is exceptionally quick and Glenn Wright seems industrious . Results also appear ok . Cup Final and reasonable league finishing position. Look forward to more updates and getting to a few more games next season.
  22. Is that correct what I read regarding the arrangements for the new manager applications ? Closing date Friday May 6 . Since advertised the window of opportunity to apply is 1 week including a Bank Holiday and whilst competitive matches in this league and others are ongoing. My word how very strange. Why didn't those behind the decision wait until the season was complete , or sack them earlier and are the current post holders really expected to continue given the upcoming cup final when potentially their replacement is in place. Good win by the way . A real challenge for the new man to match what's been achieved since I've started following.
  23. In the UK at present Mr Jeff. I'm a spirit man personally , the favourite tipple being a decent Bombay Gin with Indian Tonic Water Ice and 2 slices of lemon , unfortunately none consumed today. Twaddle ? I don't take that personally but what is twaddle about my comment. Outside looking in suggests one club emerging from this alliance. I will of course bow to your knowledge and refrain from further comment given you're apparent disapproval. Perhaps I've touched a raw nerve ! I'm unclear as to my schedule this Tuesday but May take you up on your offer of a polite discussion, I assume I look for the spaghetti Western Actor as my initial point of contact. Who is at the helm out of interest in the interim.
  24. I assumed Dorking at first team level at least were folding given their imminent merger with Dorking Wanderers. Have I misunderstood the press releases. Dorking Wanderers have no reserves under 18s or youth football and Dorking do . Dorking now sack the manager. That's a merger isn't it ? If not immediate certainly sometime in the near future. What do I know though .
