  1. Indeed 530 or something I think it was, last game and they all saw us win the league. So where are they now? Clearly it is an inflated figure as it was a big game but surely at least 400 were Windsor fans? And well said, we are not bailing Peter out we are trying to keep the club going because has put his heart and soul into the club and has no more left to give. Lets pull together and get through this first stage and I think we will be okay, just got to get this initial bit sorted. Anyone who thinks giving a little bit won't help, it will. If everyone gives a little it will combine to make a lot. If we all think our little won't help,we will have nothing and fail. I don't know the infinite details of your plight but from the outside looking in it looks like to get promotion and to stay in your current division you've been spending more than you can afford. Who's fault is that if not Peter Simpson's?.
  2. It's called supporting a team Rother!
  3. Don't know if it's in one of the local papers but on the Burnham forum (now been removed from the forum) there was a post by Burnham Lad stating that Will Dunlop has returned to Burnham.
  4. Didn't mean to sound condecending Hovis but your views on the game did seem a bit strange although you're entitled to your views. Without harping on too much because after all it was only a friendly, yes, overall play was fairly even but on chances missed/disallowed I think we had more of them but as they say missed chances don't win games. Not sure I agree with your comment that the PREMIER will attract a better standard of player. Some will go where the money is and some will see that a club are going places and want to be a part of that success. A prime example would be Bury Town. I would say that most of their players were good enough for at least the premier division but decided to play for Bury in Div 1 and are now reaping the rewards.
  5. Hovis, I reckon you must of had a few sherberts, during the game and when you wrote the above drivel!
  6. Not really, the game against Penn and Tylers mattered to me because I know how important it is to have good pre-season. Teams that have a poor pre-season and then go on to win leagues etc are very few and far between. But I know what you mean about results don't matter. It's the performance that matters, just look at today's game.
  7. True. But I bet most of you thought a whooping was on the cards?
  8. So your 'certain pleasure in the result' must be tempered by the fact that your lot scraped in against a team from 'a lower league'. BTW I'll never understand your logic of 'friendlies don't matter'. It is most certainly a very narrow pointy of view. Ask any manager/player and they will say a good pre-season is vital to a good season.
  9. Surprised your even bothering to comment on something you are not concerned about. Perhaps you've changed your mind now that your lot sneeked a win?
  10. Yes. I want to whoop your ass. Enjoy the game then? Thouroughly enjoyed it. An excellent workout for both teams. A draw would have been a fair result but hey friendlies don't matter do they? I would be surprised if you were there as you seem to not care about pre-season games.
  11. Smudger talks about 3 or 4 long term injuries, anyone know who they are?
  12. Yes. I want to whoop your ass.
  13. Don't forget Windsorian, Peter's feeling the pinch and there are some promises to be kept.
  14. I think 'were' being the operative word WR. Going to the cinema instead of watching his beloved Windsor against Slough. What a lightweight that Woody character is.
  15. Will there be food and drink facilities at the game on Saturday?
  16. Glad to see you've given it some thought and changed your opinion from 'We will have the best centre forward in the division' to 'One of the best strikers in our division' BTW Chennels has always scored goals at our level of football, why has he never made it to a higher level? If he's that good Conference or league clubs should be falling over themselves to sign him. What a ridiculous statement, how can you possibly know his personal circumstances and/or even if he wants to play any higher up the pyramid. Stick to what you know and go and plan for your extra extra prel round or wherever it is you start in the trophy. I should keep the arsey replies to yourself Dorian. That's why I asked the question because I don't know his circumstances you fool. Perfectly reasonable to think that as long term supporters some of you might have known why he's never made the step up.
  17. Don't think Will Dunlop has returned after all ? Stop it Steve!
  18. 19. Trouble is Geggy, you haven't seen any of the forwards in your new division to compare so perhaps blind optimism on your part? Although Chennels is a proven goalscorer he will be playing against better defenders and with your newly constructed team might just find scoring that much tougher.
  20. Has Seedel signed yet? Can't find any details about him signing.
  21. I might be wrong but wasn't he an ex Yeading player?
  22. Perhaps Doris, the papers were the players last resort after Sir Peter, reportedly, hasn't kept to his promise on how the owing money was going to be paid in stages.
  23. Very touching Doris but the bottom line is the press don't give a rats a#se. Any bad news is good news as far as the press are concerned.
  24. Fuzzy, As far as we are aware Paul Coyne has not signed for Slough. At this moment it is only paper talk and speculation.
  25. The Fixtures might not be out for a while. It sounds like Chester & Grays have won their appeals. It seems Grays will now be playing at step 3 which means Hemel as the lowest ranked team to be reprieved will probably end up getting relegated to step 4 after all. I assume Grays will go into the Ryman league so somebody will have to move from the Ryman into the Southern to make room for Grays & take Hemel's place. I would imagine whoever it is will not be happy! Unfortunately for them, the Grays saga rumbles on with arbitration being talked about and now, apparently, they have no ground to play at! what a fiasco. Either way, the teams that were reprieved will stay reprieved.
