Krooner got a reaction from Ian_W in Sad News from Krooner Park
Rarely get on here these days and it is a sad reason that I do now.
Andy Vaughan who has been associated with the club for over 20 years passed away suddenly yesterday.  He will be best known for his efforts with the Camberley Programme but he did plenty around the club to help it over the years and he will be a great loss to Camberley.
Not only that but when Camberley were not playing he would frequent other local grounds and was a big supporter of this level of football.
    RIP Andy.

    Very good review, Chris.

Taking a break from match day Burgers but I did enjoy a couple of Chocolate ricecrispy's complete with mini easter eggs on top in the boardroom.

I agree JR unless of course we actually go back to playing when the pitches are a tad wet.  No point having a fantastic playing surface that is only available for the first two months and last month of the season because it needs "protecting"

Decent Game at Leg O Mutton where Cobham edged out a Bedfont and Feltham team who deserved more on the day.

A good competitive game of football with a surprisingly large amount of away fans who were worth the entrance fee alone.  And I haven't even got to the away keeper

So was at Ash today and what a pleasure the game was.  Fully committed on a wet pitch, that was perfectly playable thanks to the hard work of the Ash groundsman.

No good having a pitch you only play on in Aug/Sept and April.

I think our league should give clubs the opportunity to postpone on Friday afternoon.
Travel is horrendous let alone the pitch states.

The floodlights should be repaired on Friday 26th January.
However, just in case, we have taken the precaution of making our league game v Westfield on 27th January a 2pm kick off.
The Godalming game will now be played on Tuesday 30th January.

    Worcester Park 4-3 Frimley Green

    Combined Counties League Division 1

    @ Skinners Field – Gate – 50 H/C

Another thoroughly entertaining game as the divisional leaders came from 0-3 down to maintain their strong position.

The sun even made a brief appearance and the home side could, and should have been 3 up themselves in the opening 5 minutes or so. Frimley weathered the storm and then took the lead via a well worked free kick converted by Bone and when Mepham volleyed home expertly after more good football from the visitors, one wondererd if the wheels were coming off for The Park. HT 0-2.

When Bone added a third with about half an hour left, it looked all over but the whooping celebrations were soon silenced as Park rallied to score three goals in seven minutes, one a penalty, to level things up. Frimley rallied themselves and should have retaken the lead but the real momentum was with the home side and they found a winner and saw out the game expertly.

Both sides put on a fine show; the visitors look like title challengers next season and were the best Frimley side I have seen for quite a while. Park, although champions elect (it would appear) can only wonder how they would fare in the premier division as the FA ground grading nonsense will probably demote them! Well done both clubs on a truly entertaining and pleasant day.

Went to Krooner for the 1st time in a few weeks.

A 0-0 game with Cambo probably shading it and deserved to nick it.  However you cannot complain with Godalming getting a point.

Considering some of the rubbish I read recently about Camberley it was a pleasure to see 2 sides leave the ref alone, not make anything when there was nothing there and get up and get on with it when fouled.  And as a result I am not sure there was a caution in the game. Not too much hoof ball either.

Also a pleasure to see the best player on the pitch being a 17 year old !

MERIDIAN VP 0 HORLEY TOWN 3 FA VASE 2nd Round

A good workman like performence today with goals from Zac Powell to put us one nil up at half time. Then second half goals from Ryan Brackpool and Nathan Turner gave Town the Win and put us in the third round draw. Large Horley following out numbering the home fans which was great to see.

    Thank you for posting.

Today's home match v CB Hounslow United has been postponed due to a waterlogged pitch. We have been unable to work on the pitch since Wednesday's game and overnight rain has left water lying all over the surface.
This is our first match postponed for waterlogging since the pitch was relaid over 3 years ago.

That's a shame, part of the match day enjoyment is having a bit of hot grub and a read. Not the same having to put a couple of Ginsters in the camera bag.

Not taking a pop but I was reading an interview on another forum where the AC boss was talking about taking over the Crystal Palace athletic stadium, ripping out the running track and field and installing a 3G pitch....

Agree mate and that was what I mean by mentioning the clubs.

People also need to remember 100% of the pitch has to be playable not 99%.

Was at a Surrey Intermediate Match and that was called off.  Around 10% of the pitch at the bottom was rock solid and one goal mouth as was well.  the referee was really caught in two minds but in the end called the game off which in my opinion was the right call.

today was a day that the ref and clubs are damned if they do and damned if they don't.

So the end of an era at Krooner Park.

Dan achieved many things at Krooner Park and left me with some unforgettable memories.

Sadly the one thing that we did not achieve in his spell was Step 4 football and Dan is an ambitious man who wishes to try himself at a higher level.  When we lost at HW at the end of last season I always felt that maybe the journey with Dan had come to a natural end and this decision reflects that feeling.

Dan deserves a chance to manage at a higher level and the opportunity has presented itself to him.  I personally wish him the best of luck in it and I hope he proves himself to be a success.

For us at Krooner I think the appointment of Dean is a sensible one and I hope that we will now build for another part of our history.
