Saturday 17 September - SSML Results/Reports
Localwatcher replied to Rhodes's topic in Spartan South Midlands League Forum
Tremendous start to the campaign for us. Good blend of experience, younger talent, settled squad. Exciting forward line. Looks like a good season finally after a few poor years. great buzz around the club. Well done Harvs and Jack. big up our friends up the road at Crawley to. Flying start and no coincidence with ex Totts boss Chris Robbo now involved. First class coach for non league football. Good start locally. Keep it going boys #UTT -
Predictions.......

Premier 1st - Leighton Town 2nd - Newport Relegated - Dunstable & Arlesey Div 1 1st - St Pant 2nd - New Salamis Div 2 1st - OBU by a Country Mile -
Pathetic. What about being in a packed bar after the game? What about the players and staff in a tight dressing room? How about players spitting during a game? How about players sharing drinking bottles? Banning handshakes is as useful as a chocolate tea pot.

How accurate will these be come August? A number of United Counties League Division 1 sides making the switch to SSML according to projections. Many SSML sides being moved elsewhere. Big win for Totternhoe yesterday against the Raiders. -
Bedfordshire FA Senior Trophy – 2019/20

Bright future for him. Done wonders at Totternhoe. Look at the mess they have been in since he left. If you look at the squad Cranfield have, was yesterday really a shock? Fully expect them to be in the South Midlands next season. I wonder why Paul Blackman didn’t do the post match? -
MK Gallacticos.

Asked this question last night. Apparently in the Far East for a few months.
-
Strange match choice indeed. Dunstable were a joy to watch this evening. One of the favourites for their division and they showed why tonight. To be fair to Totternhoe they done OK in the first half and should of scored a few. Second half the gulf showed in all round quality and fitness. Dunstable will take some stopping this season, and for Totternhoe the result shouldn't have any affect on what should be a good season for them.

New Season Signings & Rumours
Localwatcher replied to Karen Browne's topic in Spartan South Midlands League Forum
St Neots?? Haha. Done even worse than NBSP. Embarrassing from the league. Best facilities in the South Mids no doubt, but the whole situation is a shambles. -
Regardless of the level Winslow & Totternhoe play at, they played 2 very good sides who should be challenging for their respected league titles. Winslow beat Aylesbury from the Southern League last time out, and yesterday Totternhoe beat a good division 1 side also. However, I agree that a Premier Division side should not be conceding 10 goals in 2 matches, so I am sure alarm bells are ringing. . Winslow will be very strong this season with Alleyne at the helm. Very good players also. Aaron King played yesterday for them, with a handful of Thame Rangers dominant side also moving across to join Alleyne.

2 local sides today. Totternhoe 4-3 Leighton Town. The division 2 side completely dominated the first half going 3-1 up. Leighton improved in the second half and brought it back to 3-3. Totternhoe won it at the end. Good game, Totternhoe very strong and impressive for a division 2 side, Leighton showed good glimpses. 2 good forwards for Leighton.

Hearing it was an Aylesbury U23 side also?

New Bradwell in division 1 lol. A disastrous season and get promoted. Shambles. -
How would promotion from Division 2 work this season? Totternhoe would not be able to go up. If Thame are to play at the ASM next season then they surely would get one of the promotion spots. Would anyone else be able to go up? St Neots have the facilities but are a long way off from the top of the table. Enfield have the facilities if staying at ET's ground - looks like they will finish 3rd or 4th unless either the top 2 completely capitulate. New Bradwell - do they have the facilities? could struggle to finish in the top 7 however. Old Bradwell - have a few games in hand.
-
Thame are a great team. I have seen them on a few occasions this season. The whole standard of division 2 has improved. The top 5 or 6 sides would do well in Division 1. Thame are a class side. Enfield have looked very good. The turn around at totternhoe has been remarkable. New Bradwell are starting to click into gear. St Neots are part of a big club with good resources. Thame will win the league. Totternhoe with their games in hand are probably in the driving seat for runners up if their striker keeps scoring like he is. New Bradwell, Enfield, St Neots will be there or thereabouts. It is refreshing to see the league at such a high standard. Long may it continue and good luck to Thame in conqering all thats in front of them.
