  1. Thanks we are buzzing for the draw at 1pm! Good luck to all the other SMFL sides still in it. Anyone who says the magic of the FA Cup is dying has clearly never been involved in the grass roots football rounds of August and September.
  2. Holmer Green 0-3 Berkhamsted Followed the game on twitter (with pics of the goals as they went in which was quite amusing as they were a bit blurred!) and sounds like another dominant display. As I've just seen on twitter that is 4 competitive games played this season with 4 wins scoring 23 goals and conceding just 4 and top of the league albeit only 2 games. Since the new club was reformed this is the best team I have seen at the club and in Steve Bateman an absolute class manager and a gentleman off the pitch too. We seem to be flying under most people's radars and that suits us fine.
  3. Watched Berkhamsted v Cockfosters and the home side were good value for their 3-1 win. Despite changes at Cockfosters they looked really good in fairness to them with some good players on show. Lewis Rodrigoe, John Munday and Stacy Field were in great form and also the pitch is as good as I've ever seen it in the years I have been coming.
  4. London Lions 0-1 St Neots Town Reserves Sounds like an unfortunate loss for the Lions according to their twitter.
  5. You could say that! From what I have been told by board members Raiders approached the landlords behind Berkhamsted FCs backs in the summer wanting to take over the ground. Berkhamsted FCs board quite rightly apposed this and have been given an extended lease until at least 2019. Unfortunately for Raiders, Berkhamsted FC doubled the size of it's board in the last 12 months to 10 I think so they have picked on the club at the wrong time! Two of them are also qualified lawyers I understand which helps their cause! This season they also have 2 adult teams, a new youth team and new ladies team which will strengthen their position.
  6. Additional friendly organised for tonight with a 7.45 kick off Berkhamsted v Beaconsfield
  7. We will try our best! Have played 2 teams from our division though in competitive games scoring 17 goals in the process to be fair. Hey as a mere humble supporter I'm just enjoying the ride! The 4/5 players Steve has brought in over the summer are all first team regulars from higher divisions and the team spirit within the camp looks good from the sidelines.
  8. Stotfold 1-12 Berkhamsted Including Hat-tricks for both Stacy Field and John Munday in an emphatic FA Cup thrashing of Stotfold. The win is the 4th highest in the FA Cup this century.
  9. Here here. Well done Karen, I for one could never do the hard job you do. The previous poster started mentioning miles to grounds and included Tring. I assume his rocket science did not detect Tring to Berkhamsted is just 3 miles apart so why would that not be the natural local derby over Christmas and Easter!! The bottom line is Stotfold like Leighton are on the geographical edges of our division so will dip out on festive games.
  10. Following today's excellent 3-3 draw at home to Southern Premier League side Chesham Utd, Berkhamsted FC signed 14 players in one afternoon according to their official twitter page. Have to say, as a spectator today they looked really good in front of a healthy crowd of 141 with plenty of good new players on display. New Manager Steve Bateman obviously has great connections from managing at a higher level but being a Berko boy he clearly feels he wants to achieve the same at his home town club.
  11. Berkhamsted 3-3 Chesham Utd Fantastic result and performance from Berkhamsted against our Southern League Premier Division neighbours that are 2 divisions higher than us. Played in front of 141 spectators too!
  12. Great news, thank you Karen. Just good for us clubs to get these advertised as soon as possible.
  13. Hi Karen Would you be able to produce just the opening weekend fixtures any sooner than 19th July now that the Southern League fixtures are out?
  14. We played Amersham Town in a friendly last night and the team that Mani Asare put out last night would seriously have not looked out of place in the Premier Division. Loads of pace and youth and two players that stood out were Callum Neal and Issac Asare.
  15. Thanks for the update Karen, much appreciated.
  16. I have no idea I'm not close enough to that side of things. I assume the council?
  17. For those that don't know there has been a bit in the local press over the last few weeks about Berkhamsted Raiders having the audacity to try and effectively take over the Broadwater Stadium and turn it into a 3G pitch with 24/7 usage. This on the face of it sounds like it would make the senior side Berkhamsted FC a mere pawn in the whole scheme of things and not running their own side at the ground there that they have done since the early 1900's. I've been a Berkhamsted fan ever since my Dad took me when I was 6 years old and as a family we've lived in the town for as long as I know. As a club now and previously as Berkhamsted Town we have an extremely proud history with the highlight being when the whole town shut down in 2001 to attend the FA Vase Final under the current new manager Steve Bateman. To now hear they have effectively been promoted 2 divisions despite folding their side last season would make my Dad and Grandad turn in their graves. This season especially as a 60ish year old fan has been one of my best in recent memory and attendances looked the best for many years. Chairman Steve and other board members greet you by person and Saturday afternoons there are the highlight of my week.
  18. Why apply for promotion when you know you are situated on a border between 2 leagues? There was always a chance they would be in Isthmian North and they don't have a great deal of travelling for away games anyway if you look at the step 4 map. If they were in the Southern Central they would have trips as far as Moneyfields which is near Portsmouth. If they don't go up then I hope Hertford Town go up. Would be a credit to that league.
  19. Certainly appointing Steve Bateman as manager of my local team is a positive sign of intent for next season. Since he has arrived with the same group of players we have been on a fantastic run since the beginning of February. The set up off the pitch is also the best I have seen in the division.
  20. Surely Ware getting relegated would move someone like Hoddesdon into the Essex Senior geographically speaking?
