That decision was key to us winning, they would have eventually scored down their right with the crosses coming in

Great tactical decision to put Mickey centre back instead of Remi who has played there of late. Left Remi to remain LB to take on their pacy winger who he had the better of before Nathan’s injury and Mickey played superbly

Kels family would like to invite family and friends to the football club on Sunday 21st August from 12 o’clock. The bar will be open where we can all share memories of Kel and have a pint of Stella for him.

There will hopefully be a scattering of some ashes on the centre circle too. Hopefully see a few faces on Sunday.

We were poor in the first half. Didn’t seem up for it and the usual battling side was not there. Second half we were so much better. Yes we can blame the ref for some poor decisions but they shouldn’t have mattered against a poor bowers side. That’s second place now gone, we move on. Just a shame that we weren’t at the races at all today despite a huge following. Onto Saturday

Many apologies.  I forgot the most important part of my original post.
Yes, the official photo of Luke's proudest ever moment, accepting the Autumn trophy from a rather bemused looking Sir Colin.  I understand Luke has created a dedicated trophy room in his new abode especially to display it.  Though it will also be on loan to his second team, Newcastle, for a short period as their cabinet is looking sadly empty at the moment.

I should be going to this one, father in law lives in Margate. For those heading into the town before or after the game SLAB is a decent place to eat and there are a few other pubs in the old town as opposed to the spoons on the promenade. Fish and Chips wise in town I prefer Peters, if walking via Cantebury Road and down Hartsdown you have Westbrook Fish Bar, there is a micro pub there but last time I was there the owners had closed as was too quiet (ales of the unexpected).  If taxis are harder to come by it's an easy walk from the station, just under a mile, but unless going via the main town no pubs en route. Hopefully see a few of you on Saturday. Up The Urchins!

Cracking win - really should have been more but getting the three points was the important thing here. You always start to worry it’s going to be one of those days when you miss an early pen. Nicely taken goal by Parcell, looked like it was going to miss and swung in at the last minute. Bit disappointed with the theatrics from one or two of the Bowers players, well done to the ref for booking their no 7 for clear simulation. Held out with 10 men, really pleased with a hard earned win and a decent crowd as well. Well done to all and a happy new year

Ah, nice to finish with a high score, but across the season I prefer to absolutely bathe in the glory of whatever the opposite is for defensive capabilities. zinc ar*e perhaps.
    Most wins - Tick
    Fewest away goals - Tick
    Fewest Losses - Tick
Joint fewest draws - Tick (serious straw clutching)
    (is it fewest or least)
Even more surprising as having had a hissy fit and thrown my toys out the pram and not even bothered looking at the fixtures for 6 weeks (maybe a tactic to follow next season).
I feel I also have to copy Luke's humble acceptance speech except I originate from Lewisham although properly moulded in Corringham.
Totally expecting an 'R' in May

At the moment this is all a bit embarrassing.
FA Trophy winners, loads of momentum going into the new season yet here we are, languishing towards the bottom of the table and knocked out of both cups by sides who, let's face it, were pretty rubbish.
I really feel for the players, no-one wants to lose, they are busting a gut to turn this around but it's just not happening.
We've done well off the pitch in terms of attracting sponsors etc but our squad was never big enough to cope with the rigours of a new season.  Last season we could operate with a squad of 15/16 players when we're playing once every 4 weeks but not when playing twice a week and with the inevitable injuries and suspensions.  So when we did get those injuries (granted - more than we would have expected) we end up scrambling around in the "transfer" market bringing in players who simply aren't good enough - players from clubs 2 levels below the level we're playing at.  It's no wonder our form is poor.
It's also very sad to see lads like Sak Hassan leave.  He's a very good player now and will be even better in the future but without any means to develop him or give him competitive game time he's going to want to leave.  We have no Academy, no U21 side and no U23 side where players coming through our youth set up can play competitively and follow a pathway to the first team.  You can almost guarantee that the lads that make up our U18s side now will move onto new clubs at the end of the season.  We bring these players on, nurture them, educate them, yet lose them because there's no route to the first team.
Final point, on the subject of communication .. I'd love to be able to provide more info and insights on the website as to player availability etc but the club simply does not share any of this info.  We (the HFCSA) have asked for years to get formal communications going with the club especially with social media so important but all requests simply fall on deaf ears.  It's frustrating, especially when we find the Romford Recorder have more info on the club than appears on the club's own website.  But a culture change is needed to address that and let's face it, that won't happen.
On a positive note .. despite the doom and gloom this squad, assuming it stays injury free, is easily good enough to start climbing the table.  For 3 or 4 of our previous games we should have been out of sight by half time but either through poor finishing or good goalkeeping we haven't been and have been made to pay for it second half when we've not been able to hit the same heights.   We need a scrappy 1-0, then the wins will start to come and the play-offs will soon be within reach.
