I think the only sensible option is to resolve the rest of the fixtures by rock, paper, scissors.
Each player faces their opposing player on the teamsheet.
Each win counts as a goal.

Phew. A bit of a struggle getting that result over the line.
Never really looked troubled but as the chances kept going begging it was starting to feel a bit like Cray Wanderers away.
Two very good goals from Chris Dickson and what a sublime defence splitting pass from George Saunders for the second.
Good debut from Ellis Brown. Seen him at 2 of Mark's former clubs as a winger but seemed comfortable at right back and very willing to get forward and into the opposition box.
The 4-3-3 formation worked well again today as well although Joe and Jordan were often so high up the pitch that it seemed like 4-1-5
Another decent crowd and a set of away fans as noisy as our own.

Back to winning ways again thank goodness. Huffed and puffed a bit 1st half playing into the gale and needed a goal line clearance before a touch of class from Chris Dickson to take the lead.
Much more dominant in 2nd half and probably should have scored more. What a free-kick from Joe Christou, keeper did well to get a finger to it and nice it was Matt Johnson reacting quickest. Still had Joe Wright to thank for some important saves to keep the clean sheet.
I think everyone was hoping Jamie Cureton would get one and it wasn't lack of trying, keeper's fingers are still stinging I expect.

This is the cleft-edged double sword of Damacles.
If it had been racist and Potters Bar did nothing they'd have been crucified.
On the other hand, for something this serious don't put it over the tannoy unless you're 100% certain.
I don't stand behind the goal but I do chat with those who do. I reckon if someone had made that kind of comment then the 40+ travelling Urchins would have been all over them.
And I read it was a player's parent. Every game I speak with several player's parents and they all seem level headed (except for Mikey who is a 'chin and hates Aveley) and all of them seem engaged with the entire holistic environment of Hornchurch FC. I can't see any of them making such a statement without 100% certainty and a whole heap of other people hearing the same thing.

Unlucky for Glenn Tamplin's Romford Wizards to have to go to Histon's ground in consecutive games.
I can't wait for the coach video.

    West Ham 1 v 0 Everton

Guys and gals - the tweets are the views of one or two individuals.  Social media is not fact - and rarely does it reflect the opinions of the majority (just check any political nonsense on twitter for example). But it is a good place for people who struggle with normal face-to-face communication to voice their views or prejudices in a safe environment, especially after the event.  So - I'd ignore and move on.   Responding just legitimises the debate with people who have a lot of time on their hands to get in the last word - so probably will (generally 20-something media graduates and the like!).  I suspect the majority of Horsham fans (and players) simply felt they'd had a hard day at the office but felt nothing threatening - certainly there were plenty in the bar chatting with the Urchin faithful after the game.
BUT - and I have been meaning to post this for a while - I do think there are one or two individuals at The Bridge whose language and attitude is simply not acceptable.
There is one bloke on the Eastside (been coming for a year or so I think), and another on The Hill who I witnessed for the first time yesterday whose constant (and vile) abuse of the officials and opposition players is simply unfunny and must put many people off.  Both are in the 50+ age group. I actually left the Hill at half time because of the latter bloke.   Note that none of this was specifically directed at Horsham fans (nor the lady physio for that matter) - but it's not a good advert for the club or for new visitors.
I'm no snowflake.  Passion is important and well placed insults and swearing are all part of the game, especially if done humorously. In fact a new fan mentioned to me that he'd heard banter on the Eastside that he'd not heard in years at West Ham and will be coming back for sure.  But I do think we fans (especially the readership of the forum who tend to be relatively balanced) need to self-regulate some of these newcomers.   This, I think, is much more worthy of debate than some random/lone Horsham fan's comments on twitter.

Yes, Nathan was sent off. 2 yellows. 1st was for stopping a free kick being taken quickly. 2nd was foul for the penalty. I didn't see clearly but both players in a bit of a tangle. Linesman had clear view but didn't flag so difficult to say but if ref thought foul then had to give yellow I think.

At least I had the good sense to put my real money behind the Urchins.
A decent result really as my aspirations were to finish ahead of the dummy team by one point.
Staying in the second division suits me as I couldn't bear all the travelling to away games in the higher echelons

Let there be no misunderstanding, it's blind luck.
I didn't even realise I had joined this game until several days afterwards, the side effects of being drunk in charge of a keyboard.
You talk of "research" whatever that is, I just throw a dice and let lady luck decide my fate.
Dare I even try to beat Colin? I offered him a mince pie today (Tesco Finest, not cheap tat but maybe I need to go to Waitrose) and learnt he was vegetarian when he turned the offer down - who knew?
As I can't even find my way out of Thurrock without aid of a SatNav I'll have to resort to Google (other search engines are available) to even know what country Genoa and Sampdoria are in (are they even in same country? Both sound like made-up names actually).
In better news, my Isthmian Premier league treble came in at odds of 6.19 so maybe I should just stick with non-league. (Yes Mikey, I can afford to buy you a cuppa now [Pete and Ann, I already got you covered])
I feel that I should have randomly set some words into bold or coloured them red or strikethrough italic to match Jago's style.
    Mind you, decent result today

Abi Byrne, today's FIFA qualified ref, was in charge of the women's FA cup final in front of 43,000 so today must have been a walk in the park.
Pete/Ann. Was my pleasure, I'll make it a regular thing, you deserve it.
So many chances, doubt we'll miss that many again all season.

the spirit of this team has been fantastic over the last 2 games and several players who have not been regular starters rose to the challenge on Tuesday night to make it a memorable night for all of the supportors.  Jordan Clarke put in a fantastic MOM performance and George Winn coming on for injured Joe christou did very well.

I'm pleased that the team got over the line in the end as it would have been an fair tie to lose, role on the next round

Such a gutsy performance not at our best but in adversity we came through   always fancied us when it went to pens  the physio will be busy this week but games like this can lift us all through the coming matches well done to all

    Completely agree with Pete.
I think they thought today would be a walk in the park.
As I walked round before kick-off I heard their fans debating whether they would be 2 or 3 nil up at half time.
For sure Joe Wright had to pull a few important saves out the locker but mainly due to players slipping rather than anything super classy from Oxford.
But plenty of our own chances and could have been a decent win.
Nice ground but expected more home fans, I doubt many will travel on Tuesday.

Our biggest test so far be good to see us pit our wits against the big boys shame they won six two at Chelmo, makes you think we are playing them at.the wrong time but we now have a half decent side to give them a go,under no illusions as betting man a 3 one home win but in my bones a 1 all draw at the very least crowd 350

MikeMike got a reaction from Hornchurch "O" in Brentwood 2 Hornchurch 4
Not a very pretty game and another slow start before going behind.
A wonder strike from Saunders to equalise shortly after the break.
Dickson breaks through, shot parried but Dickson first to the ball to tap home for the lead.
Dickson then bringing the ball forwards and being urged to pass but shoots, keeper gets a hand but can't keep ball out.
Dickson once more looking for his hat-trick and again parried by the keeper but this time Ronnie Winn on hand to tap home from tight angle.
Naughty Urchins behind the goal start singing "3 assists, the keeper has got 3 assists". Best chant I've heard in a long time - naughty Urchins.
Final few minutes and a consolation for Brentwood before Hornchurch manage the game to the end.

Definitely a case of after the Lord Mayor's show.
2nd half seemed very lacklustre and never seen Hornchurch pass to the opposition so often.
Charlie Stimson stood out for me today, not just the two goals (and so deserved that cheeky lob to go in for a hat trick) but also the defensive shift he put in clearing several shots.
Did Marvin slow down to try and set up a third for Charlie?
Very low crowd - side effect of the rugby maybe?

    Wow, what a game.
Obviously the first 5 minutes were a bit of a car crash and the 15-20 weren't terrific either.
But after that it was one way traffic.
Good to see George Saunders getting so many crosses in, made a real difference.
But the most impressive thing I feel was the work rate put in by every single yellow shirted player.
Did more than enough to have won the game and their keeper being given man of the match I think tells the whole story.
