Stephen Southall's Achievements

  1. We (Southall) were promoted as champions of SSML Division One into the CCL Premier. We have been in the top 5 in all three seasons including the two null and void years and were pushing for promotion in each season, so I think we were well able to cope with the standard of teams. Ground facilities vary of course from club to club but in general were better than at Tier 6
  2. Now that the constitution of the leagues for next season have been announced, does anyone have any opinions on who will likely end up as champions and runners-up of the three divisions ?
  3. Welcome -we (Southall) came from the SSML as well three years ago. Looking forward to games with yourselves again.
  4. It is still only January. If by any chance, the lockdown is over by mid February, when the current regulations expire, it is possible that playing can recommence late February or at the beginning of March then we could play throughout March, April and May to finish the season. Most clubs will have about 25 or so games to play. I believe this is do-able playing twice a week. We are football clubs so surely our main aim is to play football if we possibly can,
  5. My understanding is that the Combined Counties will restart with the 5th December fixtures per the league website.
  6. Game of the round has got to be Sutton Common Rovers v Southall Top versus second. I had hoped, after our excellent win at Eastbourne, for an easier game but will enjoy playing at SCR - always a good game. Remember last season's 5-5 draw. .
  7. No doubt some matches will be postponed today due to the wet weather. Following a pitch inspection this morning, I can confirm that Southall v Sheerwater is ON
  8. Good luck to all the CCL clubs. Southall seem to have picked up a tricky draw away at Chatham. Just lately we have had several trips down to Kent in the Vase. But, remember last season's trip to Tunbridge Wells when we had what I consider our best performance of the season.
  9. Southall 2 Ashford Town (Middx) 1 An excellent game. First half Ashford deservedly led 1-0, great second half performance by the 'All. Looking forward to the 1st Qualifying round draw on Monday.
  10. We are certainly looking forward to playing Ashford. Last season and this we have beaten them in pre-season games for the Lord Ashford of Middlesex Bowl 2-1 both times. Lets hope its not third time lucky for them and we can get through to the 1st Qual Rd.
  11. Molesey v Southall has got to be the match of the round !
  12. Who do we think will be the top 3 this season ?
  13. If leagues start in September, there is no reason why FA Cup and FA Vase cannot be played at the normal times. In regard to County Cups, why not play them as a pre-season tournament. This could be late July/early August. This will help teams get match fit for the FA Cup and start of the league season. Certainly, in Middlesex, the Senior Cup and Senior Charity Cup for 2019/20 were halted at the quarter final stage. These could be completed also as a pre-season event. Possibly at one or two grounds rather that as a home/away match.
  14. Annoucement from the league this morning. Todays matches go ahead, although a couple have already been postponed due to weather. Matches after Saturday are suspended for 14 days from Sunday 15th March to Saturday 28th March inclusive. After that, will be kept under regular review.
  15. It's getting really tight at the top now. Only 4 points divide the top 6. Who do everyone think will be champions ?
