Unfortunately the 2020/21 SSML season has been unceremoniously 'curtailed' as was officially announced by the FA last Wednesday that 'Steps 3-6 will be curtailed' although, in the case of the Herts Senior County League, who appeared to 'jump the gun' on Thursday, it has already been declared null and void with no promotion or relegation taking place, the League are preparing to run an end of season League Cup competition for all its Divisions. That includes Division Two where Oxhey Jets Development's campaign is sadly at a premature conclusion after just six League fixtures although some may argue that it is a blessing in disguise with the side bottom of the table with a soliary point and 33 goals conceded, their last outing was as long ago as Saturday 24 October when going down 3-1 at home to local rivals Oxhey Reserves. Oxhey Jets First Team last tasted action on Saturdy 19 December with a superb 2-1 win at League leaders Biggleswade United, this followed a 10-0 victory over London Colney at the Boundary Stadium with Lewis Putman surprisingly only scoring twice, the Club have possibly suffered the most from the curtailment as they were arguably favourites for the Championship and their dream of promotion to Step 4 level for the first time since forming in 1972:

Good for them. Playing football in lockdown sends completely the wrong message nationally, exposes players, officials, backroom staff and emergency services (not to mention their families) to Covid, unnecessarily so, and provides the perfect excuse for deniers not to wear masks/comply with government guidance.
I appreciate they are not refusing to play for altruistic but for more practical financial reasons, but even so, it's about time so called elite clubs called a halt to this lunacy.

Need a sense of humor when visiting Oxhey Jets. 😃

I always find you get a better class of abuse at Oxhey Jets. 😂

A good post 👍 I've heard bad things about St Albans City in recent years but I always enjoyed visiting there ground but i haven't been there for over 10 years now.
You wouldn't happen to know the whereabouts of the ex Oxhey Jets midfielder Sim Armstrong?

The abandonment, shortly before the end of the proceedings, was due to a player injury, Eynesbury Rovers Martin Danobrega suffered a badly broken leg when the score was 2-2. Potton United had taken an early 2-0 advantage with goals from Macsen Fraser and Ibraham Camara however Joe Bradbury pulled a goal back for the hosts shortly before the interval and Charlie Moss equalised on 80 minutes when being the quickest to react and tap in from a penalty save, two minutes later Martin Danobrega suffered the injury resulting in the curtailment, I'm sure we all wish Martin a speedy recovery.

The Met Office should get down there to look into this microclimate. They should be expelled from the SSML if they keep cheating, because that's what this is. 😡

Absolutely shocking decision, FA and league need to investigate as this isn't the first time they've pulled a stroke like this (against the same opposition as well).

Photographs from Godalming Town v North Greenford United in a 2017/18 Combined Counties League Premier Division fixture on Saturday 23 December 2017, Goldalming Town won 2-1 with Brian Testolin netting for North Greenford United who transferred across to the SSML Premier Division at the end of that campaign:

For suspensions in the Spartan South Midlands FL, bans kick in 7 days after the offense.
