Rick the Dick got a reaction from cup of tea in Message to the fans.
Putting all the Forum [censored] to one side, this is a fantastic fixture for the two sets of fans who, I suspect, beneath the banter actually have a lot of respect for each other. That 1K+ crowd for our visit to The Bridge a couple of years back went without a hitch. Whilst there may be a lot at stake this time it's no more than our Play-off final with Bromley. That wasn't segregated either and had a really friendly atmosphere.

There's a big responsibilty on the officials to put on a good, preferably "hands off", performance to ensure no flashpoints & a bigger responsibility on those that appoint the officials to get the right men for the job in place.

I always enjoy coming to your place & can't see why Monday should be any different. Just make sure you've got enough Bar Staff working!

    Sorry, I'm olde skool.

I've always thought it would go pretty close to the wire with either you or 'stoft. No Chicken counting here yet. Certainly not until after the Easter Eggs have come home to roost, to mix a metaphor or three.

Should be a great atmosphere on Easter Monday. Really looking forward to it.

Way off the mark, there, Nat. The suggestion is that poor quality officiating is ruining this level of football for the paying spectator; not that it's ruining our chances of promotion. Afterall, we too could roll around on thye floor abd surround the referee if we chose to. But we don't, and I'm pleased about that.

I don't see what it was about my statement
that makes you think I was ruling out, in your words, "looking a little closer to home". That's exact;y what I was suggesting! If the refs are going to be easily conned, or go into games with ill founded pre-concieved ideas about 'Ricays "physicallity" based on a lot of sour grapes elsewhere, we're going to have to learn how to deal with that.

If the lack of mid-week 1st team action is leaving you short of your footy fix why not get along to New Lodge on Wednesday night to see the Under 21's in action in a tantalising "Table Topping" trial against second placed Ebbsfleet. The Blues U21's currently sit 8 points clear at the top of the Capital League, but Ebbsfleet occupy the second spot with 5 games in hand.

The two teams last met up in mid-December at Ebbsfleets Stonebridge Road ground and 'ricay pulled off a shock 2-0 win over the previously undefeated Kent side.

The weather is set to be dry & mild so tear yourselves away from the TV and enjoy some real 3D football in real time with full "scratch & sniff" effects that Sky just cannot beat!

Eight out of Ten supporters, who expressed a preference, preferred New Lodge to any TV picture.

    You know it makes sense.

I'm convinced it make a major contribution to road safety.

And if you divide 49 ( an estimate of BB's clubs) by 7 you get an answer of 7 which is the number that Ferguson wore when he was with us ( and probably the number of seperate times that BB signed for us). What a spooky world !!!

    Happy Christmas everybody.

Well done to the management for posting information about David Knight and quite right to stand up to him even if we see him no more.

Whilst players are entitled to a fair wage for their efforts it is important to remember that football at the Non League level is not in great shape and the recession is hurting ( see our poor crowds for instance at a time when things are going well on the pitch). A club has to manage it's finances and can only offer what it can afford. If a pay increase is given then the club is entitled to loyalty from the player in the form of an agreed contract. I agree with jl's post, there must be plenty of keen footballers out there looking for a good club.

And maybe this will be a chance for Courtney White who has sat patiently and looks useful when coming on. A run in the team will do his confidence the power of good.

Interesting approach this. Marked contrast to comments I recall Matt Jones making about a game against our ex-squatters. He took the approach that it might be a big deal for the fans, but as far as the team were concerned they should treat it as just another 3 points to be won.

    Horses for courses I suppose.

Rick the Dick got a reaction from bullensblue in Town 0 Leatherhead 3
What a great disappointment after the excellent run of form the team has given us recently. Leatherhead were never going to a push-over, with new management in place, resurgent form and the "magic" of the cup all working for them; but a 3-0 home drubbing from them was completely "off the scale" in terms of our worst expectations.

If we can take anything from it then maybe a reminder, for our League campaign, that absolutely nothing should be taken for granted; an attitude that will stand us in good stead if at home to the lower clubs or away to the front runners.

What a great goal Leatherheads 2nd was!

I guess the Radley/Chatting thing can be summed up by "why change a successful formula"; now it's suffered a reversal maybe we'll see a rethink.

What a great feeling! Better than s... second! Not a great statistician, but when were we last top of the heap?

Fantastic run that the team have put together. No league action 'til at least the end of the month, or longer if we progress in the Cup, so our supremacy is likely to be short-lived for the moment. But lets enjoy it while it lasts! Until the next time!

Well, I believe we're at Swaine at centre forward, partnering White (who may or may not be on holiday), the possibility of Shave at centre back...

We're a bit light on the left and right back places so shall we ask Gary Henty and Macca (both legends) back...or Gilbert and Lee...

Do we know why Courtney White was/is not available? Footballing reasons?

I believe Swaine started matches in a traditional Centre Forward role for quite a few games at Thurrock, so that option's not entirely without precedent. Not sure what we'd do at the back though; Shavesy?

Not so sure Booty & Knight together is a potent combination.

Nice enjoyable start to the season. Agree with the comments re Junior & Sweyne but would also add that Sweynes captaincy was also impressive. Very vocal and very involved.

Patten also impressed me playing at full back. Drew some heckles from the crowd for a couple of wayward forward balls in the 2nd half, but overall I Thought he looked very safe and comfortable on the ball and usually finished off with a creative pass.

Still lacking a little something in front of goal, but early days yet.
