The home side scored 2 goals in the first 10 minutes and it looked like they would win easily but Peterborough fought back to make it 2-2 by half time. A goal each in the 2nd period so it went to penalty kicks with Moulton just edging it 4-3. Plenty of goals on a cold but dry day.

  18. LondonEagle - Apologies, I missed that and am surprised and disappointed that Real Bedford have been unceremoniously expelled from the Challenge Trophy, it wasn't widely publicised was it on Twitter or the Club's website. You interestingly mentioned a while back that the Club's administration leaves a lot to be desired following their one point deduction last season and it seems that Peter McCormack still hasn't addressed the problem.
  19. RallyInRaleigh - Hopefully the draw for the ChaIIenge Trophy Third Round will be made any time now.
  20. FuII Time still states that the tie on Wednesday is at Hertingfordbury Park.
  21. I assume you are referring to the three shocks in the Challenge Trophy, New Bradwell St Peter beating Ampthill Town, Northampton Sileby Rangers defeating Risborough Rangers 2 and Eaton Socon turning over Hoddesdon Town.
  22. A groundhopper from another Forum was present: The Gladwish Challenge Trophy 2nd Round Eaton Socon 5-0 Hoddesdon Town Attendance - 61 official however I got 75 headcount, Admission - £5 Venue: The St Neots Interiors Stadium (River Road) - Located hidden down a side street, the turnstiles for this ground were difficult to find as they are not pathed, they are just in a corner behind the kids play area. All spectator facilities are behind one goal with a covered scaffolding stand with bus station style seats and a wooden covered standing area. The clubhouse is a small prefab building. One touchline is pathed and one isn’t but is accessible. Game - Hoddesdon had the early dominance with a good effort 8 minutes in from the centre back with a swerving shot which was palmed away. There was then a goalmouth scramble which somehow was cleared off the line by Eaton Socon. The home side had an excellent chance on the counter that was saved well with the feet of the Hoddesdon keeper. Eaton Socon did take the lead when a Hoddesdon defender dallied on the ball and the persistent Jake Alderton dispossessed him to slot into the bottom left. 1-0. The Eaton central defender received a sin bin for badmouthing the referee on the 24 minute mark. Despite this almost immediately a good ball from the Eaton right back Met the head of the winger with the Hoddesdon keeper having to tip it over the bar. The away team had a good chance from a corner which was headed straight at the keeper. A long ball forward from Eaton was flicked on to the pacy Rhys Thorpe who smashed home one on one. 2-0. The second half brought another goal early on for Rhys Thorpe who was slipped through and yet again smashed home this time off the underside of the crossbar. 3-0. Hoddesdon came close when a free kick was deflected just wide. Thorpe got his hat trick when he headed in a ball from the right. 4-0. Some quick build up play from Eaton starting from the left to the right saw a deflected shot from Ryan Baxter go under the keeper. 5-0.
