  1. As a young boy i remember being taken to home games by my father. My father's name was Ken Doughty,he was a centre half and if my memory serves me he played for East Ham United,Hornchurch,Ilford and a very good sunday side called Roman FC who reached the final of the National sunday cup. I was only 8 or 9 years old at the time, but i seem to remember the pitch having maybe a running track around it. As you can imagine the memories are somewhat faded.I was wondering if you recall Hornchurch playing Wycombe Wanderers around the early 70's when my father was at the club,it would have been a Cup gam
  2. 100% better than where they wanted to stage it mate ;-)
  3. Confirmed as Monday 11th April @ Thurrock FC
  4. Couldn't have been a Aveley hoodlum, as they had a 8-30 curfew as it was a school nite ! Me encroach the hallowed Bridge Avenue surface .... I couldn't resist a sortay onto the green baize, to see how bad it really was. Think the shingled car park out the back would have prodcued a better surface to play :-) ..... still at least when you come to us you will be use to playing on [****!!****] surfaces !!
  5. The only thing I saw flying through the air was the ball as it rocketed into the Aveley goal Given your eyesight, and the distance from the bar, someone must have described the goal, or you went home early and saw it on U Tube!
  6. Can anyone apply for this responsible role, or do I have to have a qualification for letting off a flare at the end of the game ? Good job there wasn't an over offious league official there last night, otherwise think you may be having to ban that steward from the ground ;-)
  7. 27-November 10 - Happy Birthday Miller :)

  8. Buzz Boy ....can you add my name to that list please !! ....managed by Keith Goodwin, also had the likes Micky Bright (Ex City I believe) Paul Blackeller, Dougie Young, ...the keeper's name is on the tip of my tongue ...Nicky ??, played for Aston Villa I think. Also as you may have been only 11, and must have a poor memory, obviously Hasbeen has been telling you he played .....he still lives the dream, his only part was rolling Frankie P's Spliffs for him. Best of Luck Tuesday Poor old Miller he hates that no one remembers him at the Bridge, he's right I never played with Fra

  11. Think you will find it the Ref was happy neither club would have had any say.
  12. Big shame really as the is pitch is in good nick, and we were looking forward to giving you another hiding.
  13. Bobby ....my friend ! ...Dead Horses & Flogging cme to mind with this one m8 smashfreakb: -)
  14. "Hornchurch had a number of triallists, including two from the USA, whereas Aveley fielded a strong side with several first team players" Dagger .... you have got to be the biggest fecking kock in the world of football mate ...... do a bit of research before you type crap like that, it makes you look worse than what you are, if that is at all possible. For your info, and to save you looking it up, only John Maskell started on Tuesday at Harrow, and thats cos he has been out all season (and Harrow was his first game back, so he needs the match fitness).
  15. It's here ....I can confirm Ian was correct in this bit of his quote .....A new day will be confirmed in due course. we have just entered it ...... you never know we might even get another day in a few hours time ;-)
