  1. I wasn't one of those 36 as I arrived 40 minutes late having been stuck in a blizzard and therefore wasn't counted through the turnstiles (and didn't pay either) so I don't think it is the ideal game to use to back up your point. We actually still managed to outnumber the home fans despite the conditions. It was a very weird game particularly as Luton 11 miles away was called off. We once played in supporters match against Hampton which had a bigger atendance than that! Our attendances are actually pathetic for a town our size. It has everything to do with losing the ground, slipping dramatcially down the pyramid and becoming nomadic ground sharers. A bit of success and we'd have decent crowds again as some people simply will not watch this standard of football. But I think we can all agree that Saturday's game had plenty of entertainment value.
  2. Our cup final? Jesus christ make your mind up. One minute you think we are too big for our boots and still think we are a massive non-league club mixing it with "village" teams and the next you are telling us that a league game with you lot is our cup final. We celebrated that result as we would any other. Particularly given the circumstances of the game. Of course perhaps it was a bit sweeter given the abuse some of you lot continually hurl at Slough and the fact we got so embarrassingly turned over at your place. A neutral would have been enthralled by the game. It had everything if you ask me. A good advert for this league even though you weren't at your best. The ref was crap but I think he was equally awful for both sides. So far this season you've still impressed me as the best side we've seen and on previous form you should still be able to get promotion. Good luck to you.
  3. I met this really kinky girl last night. "Humiliate me" she said...so I bought her a Spurs shirt.

I honestly do believe it is because the ground is so open and any noise just seems to drift away. That said you don't need to worry about stoking the derby atmosphere when you have Scott etc on the bench roaring the team forward and clear passion from the players. Some beautiful goals which meant I didn't begrudge the

If you mean a picture by your name like mine of Monty then if you click on my stuff in the bar near the top and then profile you will have your profile settings and in there you will see that you can add URL details to upload an avatar. If you mean in a post itself then I'm not sure - only just get the hang of adding external links!

  8. Born statesmen is Boris. Not sure whether he is a genius playing an idiot, or an idiot who stumbled across a talent for success. It was a fairly inevitable result given where we were on polling day. Interesting to see that James Whale has been sacked from Talksport after telling his listeners to vote for Boris. It will probably be one of the traditional Talksport sackings that last a couple of months before the presenter is reinstated.

Nothing going on at all. Game postponed for non-payment of a fine, manager sacked, new manager appointed, the emergence of an enigmatic poster called Mrs Cat...all newsworthy....

    Game Off?

Ah "legal reasons" - nice excuse that.

    Game Off?

I do find it very funny the way you let Staines Rebel get to you. This coming from the "if you can't take it don't dish out bunch" who spent more time singing anti-Slough songs than pro-Windsor ones whilst knocking Hampton out of the Trophy (think it was the trophy maybe the cup anyway a while back). Back on topic I don't know why someone official from Windosr didn't just come out and say we've been suspended for a £24 fine. If that was the case most people would say it was the B&BFA being petty and ridiculously unfair and heavy handed.
  12. It must be the same waterlogged pitch as yesterday. Presumably Windsor carry it round with them just in cases.

    Game Off?

It was announced at our game that yours was postponed due to "a waterlogged pitch." Obviously the real story had already got out by then so that was met with howls of derision. Good to see that your PR machine works though. And your manager didn't have the night off he came down to scout our game.
  14. I know!!!!! I just spat my drink out laughing at that. That is like saying Tony Benn is right wing. Stu is going to be worried if his "pinko liberalist" tag is being passed to the Unc. Cheers for that Staines made me giggle.

    AFc Hayes

Well I figured the Windsor crew had to make up at least 50% of last night''s attendance.

Well the answer was the bumper crowd of 64 were well entertained in a five goal thriller. The only time we see five goals is when they are flying past our latest hapless keeper. How was the game?

People always think it is sour grapes when a losing side complains about the referee but have to say she is by far the worst we have come acrosss this season. She took charge of the Slough game at Burnham and made a series of farcical decisions. She missed a series of incidents in the lead up to one of their goals but the decision that sums her up happended in the last minute. A Burnham player was sent off for a second bookable offence after a "deliberate handball." The pitch was damp with a lot of mositure/frost settling in, he slipped over and on his way down the ball hit his hand. It was quite clearly anything but deliberate. It happened twenty yards from goal at three-one. Immediately the free kick was taken the final whistle went. To send him off for that is a clear example of not knowing the game. I sympathise for once. What odds she gets given our derby game on Boxing Day? Be ready for that to finish 9 a side.
  18. It was Jude. Based on Hardy's Jude the Obscure and also starred Christopher "Dr Who" Ecclestone.

  20. What I really want to know is whether he is signed on as player manager - I would love to see him between the sticks when we face them (as I'm sure you lot would come the 5th) - always good for a laugh is Chuck.
  21. Over there you are allowed to charge "contingency fees" which are a percentage of the damages awarded. Such charges are illegal in England and Wales.
  22. The scandal lies with the compensation tariffs placed on soldiers who are injured in combat. In the case of the data entry clerk civil legal proceedings had already started and it is irrelevant who her employer is. The vast majority of her award is for future loss of earnings as both her medical evidence and that independently obtained by her employer confirmed that it was highly unlikely that she would be able to return to work. This is a lass in her twenties so she had another 40 years of work ahead of her. I think this is a pretty poor piece of journalism and I'm not surprised they have not named the clerk because it is not her fault the rules are an ass. I should also add that to succeed with her claim she would have had to establish negligence on the part of her employer. Th The MOD awards to injured soldiers compensate them for their injuries only. There is no consideration of future loss of earnings or other expenses involved and that clearly cannot be right. Incidentally the tariffs involved seem very similar to the Criminal Injuries Compensation Board that applies to innocent civilians injured during the course of a crime. The awards quantify an injury which just seems wrong. The only fair way to compensate an injured person whether it be a soldier, civilian injured through negligence or a person injured by some thug is to evaluate the impact on their life as a whole and make the award accordingly. Sadly that takes time and money and independent review which is why the grossly unfair tariffs exist.
  23. How could this possibly be deemed a success for Brown or the security services? They had absolutely no intelligence about the attack and the fact that neither bomb went off and that they were discovered in time was sheer fluke. The first one was spotted by an ambulance crew who had gone to tend to a girl who'd drunk too much and the other one was given a parking ticket and taken to a pound. The attendants only reported the strong petrol smell after having seen the news on the first one.
  24. Rob has played for England in Futsal. I saw him and a few other non-league regulars play against Finland at Bisham.
